So I finally decided to finish my HVAC control relocate, been waiting on my lazy self to solder up some new bulbs so the display would light up and I wouldn't have to count which temperature I was setting it at LOL... only took almost 3 years.

Anyway... the bulb size / number is 2162. Specs are 14v 1.4watts.

What you need to do is unwrap the wire from the plastic base and wrap the new wire leads in, that's why the bulb has a long wire.

Anyway... I didn't find this out until AFTER I directly soldered a different bulb size in LOL... which is a bulb size / number 74, same specs 14v/1.4watts.

The #74 bulb is easily found in auto parts stores if you don't want to have to wait to order. I split the leads apart and soldered directly to the copper contact points on the display board.

BTW, if you go this route, make sure you have needle nose pliers handy... if you drop the bulb inside, it's a b to get out.
