chiplee
It really is impressive. I don't know how you find the time or finance it but it's awesome that you've built something so capable. What are some of your lap times on popular tracks? I'd be interested to see where your car ranks relative to the big boys.
TexasQuest
I think I speak for all of us here and in our community when I say we cannot thank you enough for representing us in the manor you have with your awesome build. It has shed new light on our cars unlike anytime before.

CarlosFley
Wow, soooo many things were introduced to me in this article I did not know! Did y'all know our cars came with 225 ponies stock??! Or that the HRE 505's have now been redesigned?! Or that John has really been running 11.5's in the rear and 9.5's in the front instead of the supposed 11 in the fronts and 13's in the rear?! Or that he is actually using Tokico's instead of D2's and that his front camber plates are actually from a Mark 1 MR2 and not really D2's?! Shall I continue? I think not Great read, love the coverage John is getting fo our cars out there, but what in the hail was the author thinking? Geezus. Regardless, much love as always for John and his trakslt
EVOMINUS
What mistakes are there? 1.The strut housings are shortened, fitted with coilover threaded sleeves and use Tokico 5 way adjustable dampers from an MR2.In the rear, you can see the shortened and coil over converted strut housings. Tokico 5 way adjustable dampers are used here as well...............That was John previous set up.He now uses a full D2 set up with remote reservoirs and custom spring stiffness....2.The car rides on fat 17x11.5 rear and 17x9.5 front HRE 505 wheels shod with Nitto NT05 tires, 275/40-17 rear and 225/45-17 front......Previous setup.NowCCW Classics 18x13 rear 315/30/18 18x11 front 275/35/183.I don't think that the control arms are custom or longer either than the polyurethane bushings and the engine if iam not mistaken is a little more powerfull......Either way, like i said ,It's always good to read about our cars and espessially if its John's can which is a true gem
Fuze
This is definitely the best photo shoot so far on Convette's car. Baller status. http://photos.motoiq.com/MotoIQ/Features/LS1-Conquest/i-JFSW3DL/0/L/untitled-83-L.jpg
Convette
Did you feel that? The value of our obsessions just went up a click.I always enjoy these articles! I'm doing my best to bring the value up! many many mistakes....wheel combo, tyres, suspension, engine specs but overall......over the moon to see just another feature of john's dream..Way to go man.Always an inspiration Yeah its my fault, I sent them and old spec sheet by accident..(attached the wrong file) I wrote him in hopes that he would correct it... hopefully soon. It really is impressive. I don't know how you find the time or finance it but it's awesome that you've built something so capable. What are some of your lap times on popular tracks? I'd be interested to see where your car ranks relative to the big boys. Thanks Chip. I dont have a lot of money and I spend pretty much any free time I have working on it. Lap times are relative, if you check here, http://www.optimabat...llenge-results/ , this is from the OUSCI a few weekends ago. These cars are all HEAVILY modified.. I didn't win, but you can see the cars under me that I did beat are not to be take lightly. The car is great, but I'm losing time because of lack of power. Right now, the engine is almost ready to be pulled, it will be built, a long with a BUNCH of other improvements. I think I speak for all of us here and in our community when I say we cannot thank you enough for representing us in the manor you have with your awesome build. It has shed new light on our cars unlike anytime before. Its greatly appreciated man. I'm just having fun with my car.Wow, soooo many things were introduced to me in this article I did not know! The fact that there's a GT-R anywhere slower than you on that list is just impressive. I mean I know the driver makes a huge difference but that thing has modes that would make me drive like Mario Andretti, and magical differentials. See the Chris Harris GT-R review for proper raving if you're unfamiliar. Edited November 20, 2014 by chiplee
Guest
That's an impressive list of cars left in the dust of the Convette. A GM turn key crate motor would sure go a long way to get you further up in the single digit standings on that list.
LSQuest88
Hell just a good set of heads and a fast intake would help alot and there's no pulling the motor for that. Good job brother
IntercooledFlatty
John is faster than some of those so called supercars because of his ability to drive that animal. with more power he will bury the cockroacheZ.should have been MOPAR powered and you wouldn't be having all this talk of needing more power John j/k man when are you changing your license plate to NOTREAL

See the Chris Harris GT-R review for proper raving if you're unfamiliar.Yeah its tough to beat cars that are that "smart" But I'm close to having the car pretty dialed. I've been able to eat gtr's in turns, but the straights are a losing battle...for now. That's an impressive list of cars left in the dust of the Convette. A GM turn key crate motor would sure go a long way to get you further up in the single digit standings on that list. Yeah dude, soon. I'm going to build what I got and save up for a LS7 or something.. Hell just a good set of heads and a fast intake would help alot and there's no pulling the motor for that. Good job brotherUnfortunatley where I've positioned the engine, I cant get the heads off without puliing it forwards. Not a big deal, a lot things need to be done anyways. I want to polish her all up too.John is faster than some of those so called supercars because of his ability to drive that animal. with more power he will bury the cockroacheZ.should have been MOPAR powered and you wouldn't be having all this talk of needing more power John j/k man when are you changing your license plate to NOTREAL Hahaha no mopar for me, I dont conside myself a chevy man by any means...I just like the ls motors. When the car is at 600 wheel, I might not need anymore... we'll see!

Convette
600WHP FTMFW! Haha, Also looking forward to your future aero developments. I'm pretty excited about it. I tore the fenders off yesterday, I'm going to modifiy the inner structure of the car quite a bit to help move air through the car. I heard a rumor about banning aero next year for the USCA, so I gotta get a bit more creative on making her stick.
