  1. Will the t56 bolt up to a 6.0 if I find a deal on one of them? I have been told to look into truck ls motors and switch out things. Do you suggest that? What all would I need to swap on a truck motor if I find one? Is it worth it?
  2. What transmission should I be looking for? What is the tr6060? I deff want a manual. Do any fit in stock tran tunnel?
  3. I will pm you convette Could you guys give me an idea on how much this swap will cost me? Keep in mind I am reusing as much as I can. Just really want to get a ls1 and 6 speed in the car. I know the 6 speed is expensive.
  4. that build is amazing. I just really want to get the engine and trans in and enjoy it. Do you guys know of any builds like that?
  5. Guys, I have a 87 TSI that I really want to put LS in. I have been reading the treads on here to see how hard this swap will be. I am looking for your help to tell me how hard this swap is and is it worth it. I would like to know what the hardest part of getting a LS1 into our cars. Also, if you could tell me the link to a good build thread I would appreciate it. Thank you
  6. Okay, so this car does have very high miles but it runs very strong under vac, but when the car TRIES to go into boost it’s a whole different story. It has been sitting for a while but I have recently been working on it, I parked this car because of this problem (IT IS THAT FUSTRATING). When going into boost you can hear the turbo spooling, see the boost gauge read about 5psi and try to bulid boost but NO pull and it sounds like the boost is going straight to the exhaust. The car kinda putters and will continue to do that until I switch gears. BUT there has been times where I will stay in the throttle and it will catch boost and take off like it is suppose to. PLEASE HELP ME GUYS I have replaced the distributor, vac advance, deleted the boost controller and replaces turbos with different eternal wastegates . Any other options? I read a post on here that sounded like my problem, it ended up being exaust manifold or hot side of the turbo??
  7. i replaced the clutch in my 87 with a 87 tranny all stock trans. i replaced it with just another stock clutch. the problem is the clutch will not return (the pedal) i can drive the car but the clutch only has like 1-2 inches of pick up. also when i put it in reverse it sounds like the clutch is not engaged. we bleed the clutch but is there still possibly some air pockets? what does this sound like to you guys?
  8. indiana thanks for the help. i may message you with future questions with this problem.
  9. i think i only need the actuator but i may just replace it all.
  10. TeeWX thank for the help im going to check these things and ill will post the results. Im thinking its the wastegate being stuck open. where can i get a actuator?
  11. yes i have checked the boot, no tears and still clamped. AMUR- this is no lag, The car like isnt holding boost.
  12. Ive had this car for around 5 years. i just started putting money into it again but i have a problem that i have no clue where to start on. (looking for some insight by some people that know these cars very well.) The car has a super 16g that is inside a stock 12a or 14b housing. internal wastegate. 3in downpipe. 89 ecu very small mods. The car runs fine just driving it normally but if i try to get on it in lower rpms it will not bulid boost/ i can hear it spooling but it is like it goes straight to my exhaust and doesnt pull. HERE is the weird thing, if im at like 3k rpm and punch it, it will build boost sometime and pull strong but its weird cause its so hit or miss as far as when it will act up. can you all please give me a list of things to go though and replace? thanks
