Testing the waters on this. I would need your x member, and a s13 x member. $150 cut/weld, $300 sandblasted and powdercoated. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w239/johnboy9788/IMAG0937_zps74aa1482.jpg

Turn around time will vary, as this would be a side thing.

Any interest in this?

I'm still designing a tubular version, I'm trying to make it work for both my car and a stock car.

Im definately interested in hearing more about this as far as details and such. Do you use a jig of some sort to locate all the pieces together? What tie rods are used? what adapts it to the stock steering shaft? What is a reasonable estimate for total cost involved in swapping to this? ect...

I wont be doing anything other than chopping and welding. I started building a jig for a tubular one, but for this its really straight forward. Tie rods, endlinks and all steering stuff will be up to you guys. Basically just seeing if this is worth doing, or would be better to focus on a tubular one.

I understand from a liability perspective you don't want to sell a complete bolt-in kit. I'd definitely be interested. I'm just curious how difficult it will be to adapt the rack to the car. Perhaps you can shed some light on what you did to make the tie rods and steering column connections? Clearly your setup has seen more abuse than any other quest will see.

used link as a guide to mod my crossmember...gonna use info from link to mod my steering column...as for tire rod ends talking to laodicea/ mad dax on 2.6 on how he did his since he's using stock starquest parts...he sells a kit that bolts to stock crossmember but it looks like it hangs too low for my car since it's slammed

I love the idea - what is shipping going to be for something like this?

Depends where you live. Obviously shipping would be at the cost of the buyer both ways.

Its not that, I just dont want to mess with it. Its not hard to get to 2 u joints and a bar and weld it all together, its just time consuming. I'm not running this setup in my car. I have a front steer system from a mustang gt, completely custom knuckles ect. Like conquestador89 posted theres other options out there.

So fresh and so clean!

Awesome work Convette. I'll put this on my list but it's not at the top of the list, tossing this damn G54 is LOL. This is a solid option. Also leaves room for somebody else to build/sell the other pieces and make it a full bolt on deal.

Thanks Fuze. This is just one of many options, ideally a tubular one that's modular would be the best option.

KT I will build them as soon as I need to pull my engine. After knowing what I know now, mine are way over built.. lol

Questsale, again that's up to you guys, you can find something that works trust me. Theirs not that many tie rod bores out there.

Convette,

I'm locating a Nissan front subframe. Will any other subframe work? It looks like the S14 and 300ZX have similar steering rack mounts. I want to make sure I get the right one the first time.
