  2. WOW I CAN'T ASK FOR A MORE DESCRIPTION THEN THAT. YOU MIGHT AS WELL COME OVER AND DO IT FOR ME. THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE INFO. NOTHING ELSE SEEMS TO BE WRONG, JUST ISN'T CHARGING. I REALLY HOPE I DIDN'T SCREW UP ANYTHING ELSE BUT LIKE I SAID IT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE IT.

  4. I'M LOOKING TO GET A FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL FOR MY 89 CONQUEST. I'M NOT SURE BUT I REMEMBER HEARING SOMEWHERE THAT THERE IS 2 TOTAL MANUALS FOR THESE CARS. ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS? WIRING ISN'T EXACTLY MY SPECIALITY AND ANYONE WHO HAS ONE OF THESE CARS KNOWS THAT'S ONE OF THE BIGGEST CAUSES OF TROUBLE IN THESE CARS. O WELL I STILL LOVE IT AND I GUESS I'M GOING TO GET ALOT MORE PRACTICE.
  5. MY HEADLIGHTS WORK GREAT WHEN YOU TURN THEM ON. IT'S JUST TURNING THEM OFF THAT'S THE PROBLEM. THE LIGHTS GO OFF BUT THE LIGHTS WON'T RETRACT. THEY ALSO WORK WHEN USING THE MOTOR SWITCH, BUT WON'T GO DOWN. ON ANOTHER SITE SOMEONE TOLD ME THEY WERE VACAUM OPERATED. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT'S GOING ON AND EVEN PULLED THE PLUGS APART ON THE DRIVING SIDE THAT GO TO THE HEADLIGHT AND PUT SOME ELEC. GREASE ON THEM. THERE ARE 2 PLUGS GOING TO THE MOTOR. ONE HAS TWO WIRES THAT WERE SMALLER DIAMETER (RED + WHITE ) THE OTHER HAD 4 WIRES WHICH WERE HEAVIER AND OF THE FOUR TWO WERE BLACK AND THE OTHER TWO I'M NOT SURE OF. AT THIS POINT THE ONLY THING I CAN THINK OF IS ONE OF THOSE HEAVY BLACK WIRES IS FOR GOING UP AND THE OTHER IS FOR GOING DOWN. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
  6. OK GUYS TELL ME THE EASIEST WAY TO GET THE ALT OUT. I FRIED THE BATTERY AND ALT WHEN I JUMPED THE CAR AND HOOKED UP THE CABLES THE WRONG WAY DUHH. THE THING LOOKS LIKE IT IS A REAL BLEEP TO GET OUT.
