Sounds like an awesome car, but that's well above my budget at this point in time, unfortunately. I appreciate the offer though!

Nope, wasn't me unfortunately. I didn't get a response for the new price. I'll get my first one eventually, though! Just going to take time
-
So whats your asking price now?

http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/cto/4926189278.html I am going to try and take a look at this Starion. Any thoughts or concerns or advice? Does it seem like it would be worth my time? I'm only a short distance away from it. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Give me a clue... 88 TSI, rebuildable or parts...

My favorite color on a Starquest. If I didn't live so far away I'd love it. GLWS. Car looks good for the money you're asking. -
http://burlington.craigslist.org/cto/4782703462.html This could be a good parts car, seeing that it has louvers, even on the sides. Not my car, just noticed on craigslist.

So what would be a side effect of using lower octane fuel in the SQ? Would it just run like garbage or could you do damage to the engine itself? Just trying to learn what I can. I'd most likely use a higher grade just to be on the safe side anyways, especially when considering the age and sensitivity of SQs.

Thanks for all the responses! This clears it up a lot, guys.

You can probably consider this a pretty insignficant question, but what kind of mileage do you commonly see on a bone stock 5-speed SQ? I do not own one yet, unfortunately. (Hopefully this coming year though!) I've seen the dealer stickers and approximations, but I know from personal experience with my previous cars that they are not very accurate. Also, I've heard that you are supposed to run 91+ premium gas, is this true, or can you run regular unleaded? Thanks!

I've read through that post about everything to replace more than a few times and it seems a little daunting to me. Thats a lot of stuff that I need to look out for. Are many of the issues you talked about relevant to a SQ that has been daily driven, or will many of them just be relevant to one that has been sitting/poorly maintained? Thanks

Hey all just a new guy here. Just a little background: I was searching on youtube one day and stumbled upon the Starquest and instantly fell in love. I've always loved cars from the 80's and the Starion is arguably the best looking 80's sports car I've seen. Anyways, I'm looking to get into my first Starion next year (hopefully), and I want to learn as much as possible about them before I jump into one. It seems they can be quite a hassle, but I'm more than willing to sacrifice to get this car. I have very little car repair experience (outside of brakes, thermostats, etc the easy stuff) so please be patient with me. Its great to be here, and I look forward to meeting some very knowledgeable people! I'll take any advice you can offer.
