  1. Yep, except my back seats are all black and original. The stripe next to the front window is black, but the bottom half of the door panel is tan. The car was made in nov 87, but sold as an 88 model. Do i have the 88 ecu and other mechanicals?
  2. I've got 87 seats, just like josh-88-tsi. Can i lower the seat height? my knees bash the steering wheel.
  3. please keep in mind im new to SQs. I recently obtained a 88 starion built in nov 87. It has the black and tan interior with the 8 way seats. the head rests do not have big square holes in them. My problem is that the seat sits too high. I'm a tall guy, and I feel like im sitting in my subaru. My buddy has a 88 conquest, and the seating position is much lower. My seats are in excellent condition, so i question whether they are the original seats. Did mitsu change the seating geometry? Is there a way to lower the seat I don't know about? On a side note, I can pull the steering wheel column adjuster out and it wiggles a hair, but doesnt adjust. Does anyone know what the deal is?
  4. when i got this car, the valence was not attached, and it was pretty well cracked up. on one corner there was a spider crack with a quarter sized hole missing, the other side the bottom visible inch was gone for about 5 inches long at the corner. First i sanded and washed everywhere around the damaged area. I bolted everything i could together with metal plates, making sure none of the screws would show. Then I super glued all the cracks together as a temporary fix to hold it together while i worked Then i used bendable metal tape (think aluminum foil) and superglued it where the missing parts of the valence would be. I wrapped this with about 4 layers of fiberglass, letting it dry and sanding after each time. I did not quite go as far out as the missing part did, but very very close. I then coated the whole vicinity in bondo, scraping off any excess. Sanded off the bondo, and in to the urethane in some places, making it completely flat. At this point, it is sanded finished, but still needs to be painted. I took it and yanked the hell out of it, to the point i doubt the original urethane would hold up (no reason to bolt it up if it is not strong) Looks good. I will sand the whole valence tommorow in prep for painting. I'm sorry i dont have any pics. Oh, and this is my first body work, so if i should have done something, pipe up!
