Just curious has anyone used any other alternator on our cars other than the hyundai alternator? I have a 99 dodge durango and it looks like that alternator would fit if the pulley was changed. I have a 220 amp alternator for my fully loaded durango and since its trans blew im parting it out thinking of doing a test fit on my spare motor if i can find the accy brackets

I wouldnt put more than 130 amps on the stock wiring. You would have to do alot of modifications to run a high amp alt like that. I use the gm corvette alternator 130 amp with an upgraded 10 gauge charging harness. A ground from the alt to the block is a must aswell. Upgrading your ground from the block to the body will definitley help. Why do you want so much amperage? The factory alternator is 60amp i believe...

I am just completing an upgrade to a 200 amp one wire GM cs130 amp. With 0 gauge wiring from alt to starter to rear mount batt, Also 0 gauge wire for ground from engine block to batt. and chassis ground points.

I'm pulling around 150 amps when the bass hits hard.

I need a good amp alternator to run the cars electronics and my stereo. All my stereo equipment is high end stuff and has a big draw. I have two batteries also and the factory alt just cant keep up

As long as you upgrade all your wiring to accept all that juice you should be fine. Ive seen people melt their cars down with these intense sound systems lol.

Intense sound system? Got that. Lol. I have 3000 watts going to my mids and highs. And 10,000 watts going to my subs. Not to mention i have a dynamic sound organizer and bass organizer/synthesizer. All custom made fiberglass box. 4 orion hcca 10" subs and 2 sundown audio 8" subs
