Custom 0.20 Ross 9:1 forged pistons (oversized eyebrows with a very slight dome). You won't see another set, because they're oddballs. The sister set ended up in Puerto Rico on the strip. Had a very close relationship with Ross at the time and they wanted to build them for 100% dynamic balance. I wasn't going to argue with their logic. Designed around factory head CC and 1mm OS valves with .495 lift cam.
Crower H-beam rods, again another custom order
0/0 cut crank to retain full Nitride, rotating assembly dynamic balance
New Mitsu oil pump
Chrome powdercoated timing cover and fresh oil pan
Ton's done here....goal was something never seen before.
Started with factory "T" casting head. Jet valves and shrouds were pulled. Holes slugged and welded then combustion chambers reground. New seats, guides, etc with radius valve job. Custom Manley SS valves. Schneider springs. Mechanical rockers but just a stock cam right now for break-in and tuning purposes before going to big cam.
Then 10 hours modifying the valve port floors/roofs and full port/polish/flowbench. Hit 225cfm flow intake. Trying to find bench sheet for all the numbers.
Of course surfaced, etc.
All told, this build was a $4,565.20 receipt not including the factory crank, timing cover, and other odds and ends....so putting it in a storage unit for an untold period of time just turns my stomach. I'd rather take a bath on the cost and see it go to a good home than become a boat anchor in non-climate controlled storage where I can't maintain it. $2,500 firm and pick-up only.
Will spend some time getting images posted later today....my first thread since Photobucket fiasco
