  1. I wont give up, its just going to take a little longer than I hoped. Someone had asked me about the Jay Racing piece, so here's some details on it. Here is the piece. http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/devilsfutbol17/20151022_180435_zpsn6fn2mru.jpg http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/devilsfutbol17/20151022_180422_zpsxfevhfz9.jpg http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/devilsfutbol17/20151022_180413_zpsishreyiq.jpg http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/devilsfutbol17/20151022_180557_zpsisblmzub.jpg You can see the little groove in the piece, that's where the thick washer is supposed to fit and keep it pressed to the cylinder head. Looking at the head now. http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/devilsfutbol17/20151022_180445_zpsxp7jpivg.jpg The hole with the bolt in it that is at about one o'clock from the coolant passage is where the thick washer is supposed to bolt in. Here it is pressed into the head. http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/devilsfutbol17/20151022_180351_zps4x5kyfis.jpg http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/devilsfutbol17/20151022_180338_zpssc4prisq.jpg The piece is rotated so the thermostat housing sits straight up and down, but the thick washer doesn't line up with the groove on the piece. If I rotated it so the washer lined up with the groove, the thermostat housing wouldn't be straight up and down. That may not be an issue depending on where the high spot is in your system and where you're filling it from. This is on a 2g head, I don't know if its any different on a 1g head, but I'll check one of my spare 1g heads and post back.
  2. Thanks. I haven't done much lately, but I plan to post a few more details on some things this weekend.
  3. The thermostat housing is a spare 1g unit I had. I don't like the top half of it because it doesn't point the direction I want it to, so I may be looking into other options for that. I'll try to take some pictures of the jay racing piece. It basically presses in snug and has an o-ring to help seal it. Then you use a washer that bolts to the side of the head and the washer covers part of the flange holding it against the head so it doesn't come out. It actually doesn't line up correctly but it will work, I'll show what I'm talking about with some pictures.
  4. I am using the 4g64 timing belt, the 4g63 one won't fit. Once I get a few more parts I'm going to put the motor back in and check clearances of everything and figure out what to do next. The manifold I bought is different than the evo 8 manifold, while both will work I think this one is more ideal. I started building my shopping cart at extremepsi, and dam this is gonna be expensive lol. I'm going to buy parts as I'm ready for them. Pistons, bearings, front case, and several other expensive parts won't be needed until I've basically bolted everything to the engine, plumbed everything, and got all of the wiring completed. Saving all my stock dsm parts is coming in handy. Hopefully I'll have everything assembled and together, then pull the engine and have the machine work done, then be ready to rock and roll.
  5. I haven't made too much progress lately, but I did get some parts. -2ga head so I can use the 2ga CAS -Expo power steering pump. I think its the same as a 2g pump, but it will allow me to run the power steering pump off the harmonic balancer. -Jay Racing thermostat relocation tube thing -JDM Evo intake manifold I should have so more pictures later this week because some stuff is still in the mail. Also, I'm not going to rush things like I originally planned so I'll buy new pistons when the time comes. http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/devilsfutbol17/20151019_185836_zps7h7c5cvi.jpg http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/devilsfutbol17/20151019_185842_zpsrwfscxxm.jpg http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/devilsfutbol17/20151019_185850_zpslp0memfh.jpg
  6. And the egr can be welded closed as well.
  7. Thanks for the link, I hadn't seen that thread. Yes Im aware of the injector issue on the evo manifold, but it's nothing some welding and grinding can't fix. I have a mig welder with a spool gun I've been itching to use. If I were to cut the flange off for a 2g flange I'd take it to a buddy to be welded.
  8. I haven't looked at the clearances all around but the front of the oil pan cleared the sway bar or whatever bar that is by plenty of space. If your asking about how it is turning the steering side to side, I haven't done that. But the stock 1g intake manifold was dam near touching the stock starion steering device that the power steering lines hook into. Sorry I don't know what that thing is called, hopefully you know what I'm talking about. The 1g manifold was also dam near touching the brake booster. I think it's workable though. I'm looking into intake manifold options, I'm hoping to use an evo manifold since its already facing the correct direction. The flange looks similar to a 2g head, so I ordered gaskets for a 2g and an evo manifold to see how they line up. I'm planning to use the stock starion flywheel, clutch, and TOB for now. Eventually I'll upgrade things but right now I don't have the money to buy the bare minimums to get this running, so I must spend wisely. I do have an RX-7 trans, the b2600 bell housing, and a b2600 tailshaft housing, but apparently I found a unique RX-7 trans because it has a big dampener on the tail shaft and the b2600 housing won't fit on it.
  9. Took the CAS out. This is with the engine in the mounts and bolted to the trans. http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/devilsfutbol17/Mobile%20Uploads/20151004_172517_zpslvepcbki.jpg http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/devilsfutbol17/Mobile%20Uploads/20151004_172451_zpsexecestz.jpg http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/devilsfutbol17/Mobile%20Uploads/20151004_172456_zpsrvrrq9sr.jpg http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/devilsfutbol17/Mobile%20Uploads/20151004_172643_zpszxwkbmsc.jpg http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/devilsfutbol17/Mobile%20Uploads/20151004_172442_zpstasxtdyr.jpg
  10. What I posted on tuners. Using the below diagram, can I connect a 2g CAS and a 2g Crank sensor to the CAS connector on a 1g engine harness? It looks like I would need to connect the red positive and black negative wires on the 2g Cam sensor to the 1g CAS connector terminals 3 and 4. I'm planning to run 1G DSMLink with a 1g DSM wiring harness and would like to use the 2g sensors. Also, if I do this it looks like the cam signal will be inverted, so I think I'll need to switch the fuel injector pins on the ECU connector correct? http://www.roadraceengineering.com/eclipsetech/justin/CASwiring.gif
  11. Those are the truck brackets bolted to the 4G64, with the conquest mounts bolted to the frame. The truck mounts that bolt to the frame were the exact same as the conquest ones as far as I could tell with them side by side. That is the plan so far. I purchased a 95 head last week with the cam sensor and I plan to use a kiggly 6 bolt crank sensor. I'm going to be using a 1g engine harness and 1g dsmlink since I already have both, so we'll see how well those sensors work with the 1g setup. I posted on tuners but haven't gotten any feedback yet.
  12. Not enough for a 1g CAS. I am using the stock trans. I'll pull the CAS off and take another picture. http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/devilsfutbol17/Mobile%20Uploads/20151003_131313_zpsdpxxusfj.jpg http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/devilsfutbol17/Mobile%20Uploads/20151003_131325_zpsqzbwupqi.jpg http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/devilsfutbol17/Mobile%20Uploads/20151003_131335_zpsuvkdjipn.jpg http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/devilsfutbol17/Mobile%20Uploads/20151003_131345_zpsolmtx62l.jpg http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b565/devilsfutbol17/Mobile%20Uploads/20151003_131401_zpsofaa9asm.jpg
  13. I dont know about the rocker assembly, I can pop the valve cover and check it out. I do still have the intake hard pipe and filter, $20 plus shipping. I dont know anything about it other than it came with the car. If your interested ill box it up and get a shipping quote. If you want more pictures, PM and I can text or email some to you.
  14. I pulled the engine out of this car. If there are any engine parts wanted, let me know. The cruise control and the a/c components are up for sell too.
