Slowly but surely getting there... I've got an MS-II ecu from DIY Autotune that will work with 3 X MSD coil packs for ignition, and Bill Hincher is making up an adaptor plate for a TH-350 trans.

Still need to clearance out about another half inch to get the radiator in there, and a lot of bumper work to be able to fit the intercooler.

Going to be using a fiberglass cowl hood - stocker won't close on it.

The intake is Gato performance. This is the silver 6g72 project that was partially completed that I bought. I didn't like the amount of work needed on the chassis, interior, etc, so took all the goodies out and swapped into mine. Sold my g54b, r154 trans, MPI, nitrous, etc... and this is going to be the next iteration.

Yeah, it'll be nice to see what this engine can do, since it was famous for that one old picture. It also looks like some of the components could stand to be updated (cough cough turbo and wastegates cough cough!). :)

I've seen that engine before, where did you get it?

It was started by someone in Florida, then went to someone in Plano, TX, then a friend out in West Texas, and I got it Summertime last year. Finally getting around to making some real progress.

Hey first thing I love the car second do you have pictures of the mount I got a motor from the machine shop I work at and was wanting to do this swap as well

Thanks Tim

Well it's got Tial WG's and Garrett .63 mm turbos - I'll run with those and see how they perform. I'm hoping to see around 750rwhp on high boost and race gas. We'll see - I know that's setting the bar pretty high though.

Thanks. Here are a couple pics of the mounts. And yes I have already replaced the mitsu portion of them with new ones. :)

  • 3 weeks later...

Ok so this might be a random post but I figured I would chime in as I am probably going to be picking up a Starion again here in the next week. I just sold my 96 Stealth and I still have my DD fwd 3000GT TT conversion.

Anyways, now to the relevance of my post. I was planning the very same thing with my Starion. I have 3 complete engines already, one of them being a built 4 bolt with forged internals and PnP heads. I wasn't planning to run turbos anywhere near as large as yours lol, but I do have a similar intake manifold design going on my car.

I am very impressed with your setup man. Cant wait to see the development. My questions are si liar to what has been asked, I just missed any answers thus far. What transmission are you running? Is it the Starion tranny w/ adapter plate? Very interested in that portion.

Mine will be a little more modest with the turbo sizes, planning on some 16t's or something of that sizing. Anyways, long post over. Very nice setup man. In for more pics!

Do you have any spare turbo heads or know where I could get a set?
