custom yokes for custom driveshafts

I took a flange from an import truck and adapted a 1350 yoke on it for the new drive shaft

Those look nice Bill, I haden't thought of indexing them to the outside of the companion flange. I used the internal hubcentric ring like stock.

it wasnt by chioce chad,

it wasnt really the proper yoke to use, the customer sent me his parts and I built the adaptor, if I had my way, I would have cut the flange off the pinion input and attached the 1350 yoke directly that way i could bypass the 4 bolts and all that jazz

 

the wider you build the project, the less effort it takes to do its job

yah, that is why I added 2 hardened dowels. The 1350 flanges I use are for common 4" OD tubing so there is less strain on the weld, they are easy to source and inexpensive too.

 

I also wanted to eliminate the need for the bolt-on method, but couldn't find any way to keep it easily servicable (to install/remove). The dowel method unfortunatly requires the use of core flanges (I swap a finnised part for the customers core).

 

 

 

You have a good design, should work well.
