Bill Hincher
this is the work towards the R 154 to the EVO using a second gen flywheel http://www.billsautofab.com/images/EVO_R-154development.jpg I took my existing R 154 narrow block bellhousing and added the EVO 4 through 9 bolt pattern http://www.billsautofab.com/images/EVO_R-154development1.jpg http://www.billsautofab.com/images/EVO_R-154development2.jpg http://www.billsautofab.com/images/EVO_R-154development3.jpg http://www.billsautofab.com/images/EVO_R-154development4.jpg http://www.billsautofab.com/images/EVO_R-154development7.jpg http://www.billsautofab.com/images/EVO_R-154development8.jpg http://www.billsautofab.com/images/EVO_R-154development12.jpg http://www.billsautofab.com/images/EVO_R-154development13.jpg the EVO bolt pattern has been installed in the R 154 bellhousing and it is in the casting shop http://www.billsautofab.com/images/EVO_R-154bellhousingdevelopment16.jpg http://www.billsautofab.com/images/EVO_R-154bellhousingdevelopment17.jpg http://www.billsautofab.com/images/EVO_R-154bellhousingdevelopment18.jpg I changed the roof of the housing to lighten up the casting and allow the hot air to flow faster http://www.billsautofab.com/images/EVO_R-154bellhousingdevelopment19.jpg I eliminated a couple of gussets to allow an easier draft in casting and I lowered the existing gussets to a smaller profile http://www.billsautofab.com/images/EVO_R-154bellhousingdevelopment20.jpg just a touch of detail, I added a vent in the lower case to get rid of any collected fluids http://www.billsautofab.com/images/EVO_R-154bellhousingdevelopment21.jpg http://www.billsautofab.com/images/EVO_R-154bellhousingdevelopment22.jpg http://www.billsautofab.com/images/EVO_R-154bellhousingdevelopment23.jpg http://www.billsautofab.com/images/EVO_R-154bellhousingdevelopment24.jpg http://www.billsautofab.com/images/EVO_R-154bellhousingdevelopment25.jpg now its just waiting for the casting shop

PDX87Starion
Nice! Really top notch work! Makes me want to do an engine swap. My mind cant help thinking of other custom cast parts we could use on a SQ. Ever done an intake manifold before?
Bill Hincher
the shop that does my casting work does all the intake work for the blower cars for Honda aftermarket stuff and he has extended the offer to cast an intake for me, but I have so many requests for bellhousings its hard to keep up, they want $5000.00 to start the pattern there are a couple things I dont like about the short runner ,sheet metal intakes I see but then there is some good stuff too I want to build an intake with long runners and a replacable plenum, that way a guy can change plenum sizes to adjust to the size engine he has, I want to add a second injector ( MPI) , so you can maintian an emmision control side and a power side for your engine and I want to maintain the EGR port It should also have a secondary throttle body to maintain air speed in the cylinder head and mount lower then the OEM inlet to aviod excessive bends in the inlet tubing from the air cooler and while I am there ,I been working out a remote location for the first gen CAS system then a dry sump system and a reverse cooling system

yokomo
Mr Bill. you wouldn't happen to have a bell housing for a Toyota 1UZFE mated to fit a R154 laying around would you? Thats the big part of the swap.
Bill Hincher
Mr Bill. you wouldn't happen to have a bell housing for a Toyota 1UZFE mated to fit a R154 laying around would you? Thats the big part of the swap. i would have to build it, from what I can tell, the problem is , the Toyota 1UZFE never came with a manual trans, so there is no OEM flywheel, but after further review, i found the 3UZFE came in the Toyota 4 runner with a manual trans, if they are the same flywheel, it can be done Edited November 9, 2009 by Bill Hincher
