'87quest
Hey guys! Well I've been thinking about doing this for a while and finally decided that I'd like to offer this service to all of you. I haven't been powder coating for very long, only about 3 months. However I have had pretty good success with it and thought I'd see if any of you would want anything done. I can do pretty much any color or texture if you are willing to wait a few days for me to order it. I was thinking that it would be mostly bigger items, such as: Valve Covers, Hardpipes, or Intake Manifolds. I am not opposed to doing the smaller stuff though so just ask! Heres the method I use for pretty much everything I do: 1. Media blast the part 2. Clean any leftover media off with brake cleaner or soap and water 3. Allow the piece to dry/ pre-heat the piece 4. Mask off any unwanted areas/ bolt holes 5. Shoot the powder 6. Bake for the recommended time and temp 7. Allow to cool and ENJOY! Heres a few samples of pricing: Valve Covers: 1. Single Color- $50 (plus shipping both ways) 2. Two Colors (usually just do the stripes a different color but can so whatever you want. Masking these off is a major PITA thats why there is a added cost)- $75 (plus shipping both ways) ** If you want a Valve Cover I already have that is fine but I would like to get yours back as a "core" type of thing. This way I can do them as they are ordered and send them out so you don't have to have any down time, then you can just ship me yours back. ** ** Can also offer smoothing off the stripes in the middle for a smoother finish for an added fee ** Hard Pipes: Going to try to keep it around $50 a complete set. Price may be negotiable depending on the size and length of piping. Intake Manifolds: 1. TBI intakes depend on what you want to do yourself. If you take everything apart and remove all seals/gaskets and just send me the pieces to be powder coated (mani, TB, mixer housing, and tophat) Id do $50. If you want me to take it all apart I can do that but I'd want $75. **If you want me to reinstall everything with a rebuild kit (new shaft seals from Brian, gaskets, and o-rings) Add another $50** 2. MPI intakes I think I would prefer you take everything apart and send me the pieces to coat, then Ill send them back and you reinstall all sensors, etc. Id like $50 for this option. Other Small Items: Please PM me what you want done and we can come up with a fair price. Everything would be paid via PayPal and my address is: drakelehr@yahoo.com Here are some sample pictures of my work, sorry its all chrome and red, thats the colors I did my stuff. http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u560/drakelehr/17AD1328-A118-47FE-AE07-1DAAF13571E9_zpsr6bethau.jpg http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u560/drakelehr/E7D84F6D-6529-4A04-84E2-E502F144B583_zpstmgkdkbv.jpg http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u560/drakelehr/5BA16EE7-F178-4058-A15D-E236338D6589_zpsbtx8spsw.jpg http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u560/drakelehr/4E959114-5FC2-4FB0-BF9D-484CF3B21C19_zpskbu8psgm.jpg http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u560/drakelehr/E093EA5C-8DB7-4298-8B6D-447FE543D0FC_zpscqpw8tqi.jpg http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u560/drakelehr/8EBCF146-ACA5-46A2-86DB-4E8376492E29_zpsiyn9hbx0.jpg http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u560/drakelehr/659207F7-1150-4AD5-9F2F-E7824523CDD3_zps7zcawdz5.jpg Thanks for looking guys and please PM me if you want anything done. tankbob
I just had some stuff powder coated locally and I was wondering what would be the best method to remove the powder coat off the the mitsubishi script on my valvecover so I can polish it? You'll have to sand it off by hand and be careful not to scratch anywhere else.
