Now keep in mind, a sketch is a sketch and not every sketch can be built or would look good built, I've seen a lot of really good sketches look like butthole in 3d...anyways......

This is where my car is heading now....

hey john i think those drawings look great! but like you said sometimes sketches look great but 3d not so much.

im not sure if its the drawings but the angle of the header panel seems to be steeper than stock(was this intended?).

I think to get the concept you and josh are both going for the header panel needs to go in favor of a redesign for sure.

very cool!

awesome sketches!!! theres soooo much possibility for our beloved quests to step up and into the limelight of import tunning, now that motor swaps are kickin in all over- this is just the kind of thing we need... and the rear bumper too!!

i dont see a problem in making any of those into a working design.....

good work and keep the think tank open!!

where did you get your degree from? just curious

I got my degree from the Academy of Art in SF. My director is the guy who designed the rx7 (FD), miata...basically made mazda what it is. Great school, but very expensive.

what did you use to create the drawings? hand sketch then illustrator?

I used a program called Alias Sketch Book Pro, I use a tablet pc (you can draw on the screen digitally) just free hand, its a very simple program, with minimal tools.

Anyways, I can't do anything here at work (might be a conflict of interest...stupid BS) but I will explore a little more on some of them tonight, and a few on the rear. I like the one D_Ven posted, I'll do some more with that theme.

i like the first frontend the highly modded stock and the newest back end ..a lot

the first one is just a pic of johns car:) with a splitter on it and sleepy headlights:)

if you look at his sig pic hes modified the bumper opening and cut the "grille" center out.
