  1. Nice! thanks bro!! She's a work in progress. I currently live in Soulard but I keep the Quest in Illinois in a safe spot. It's way too hectic here for a nice car without a garage lol. Buying our first house soon tho (with garage) can't wait. Still will be in STL somewhere tho. You guys close to downtown too?
  2. Haha not yet. But if I do at all its thanks to all you informational gentlemen on SQC! Seriously being able to learn anything you need to know off SQC is one of the main reasons why I personally love these cars. You guys are all awesome. It's going to be a fun journey.
  3. Lol thanks everybody glad to be aboard. Sorry again for the long post and the fowl Language haha. That was long over due that's probably why I wrote a lot. (Maximum Overdrive) I'll be at a MM in July. I don't want to take this thing there in its current stance. It will get mistaken for a straight line build I need to get these coilovers on and a few things done first. But I'll let you know so we can meet up there. And don't worry guys it would take a lot of persuading to get me to want a v-8. thanks for the warm welcome guys much appreciated!
  4. Hey fellow Starquesters, My name is Doug. Most call me Dougie. I've owned my Conquest now for about 5 months and i've literally been using every second of free time I have when not working to get this beauty up and ready for the track. ( I am on salary at my job lol I work alot) With that being said and those that are wondering this is a Drift Build only. I don't mean i'm going to throw a bash bar on the front and rear and call it a drift missle and beat the hell out of it lol. I have a huge love and passion for cars, I have since I was just a little shithead. I don't think my passion for cars and motorsports will ever die out it's just what i'm in to. Since I was about 15 i've seen conquests around and starions here and there and have always loved that look. 240's, Old Supras, Rx-7s all the old vintage looking flip up headlight machines of the 80's and 90's that i'm positive we all love. I really never thought I would own one because usually when i see them they are really pricey or really beat up. So finally when I saw this forsale at a decent price (not running) I had to scoop her up and make her mine. And from here on out hopefully this beautiful machine can help me finally start my drift career and the rest of my life behind the wheel. I picked this car for obvious reasons. I wanted a car that not everyone and their neighbor have out at the track. Not a car that there are parts laying in everyones garage for cheap and all over craigslist to buy will ease. I wanted a challenge, and not to mention these cars are absolutely sick with their apperance and their form (even stock). I know all you StarQuest veterans know more than I do and have driven these things at all shape and funtions. This is my first and only so far... haha. Through the years i've driven all kinds of fun toys ranging from 200-800hp and yeah those cars can be beasts but I also don't have $60,000 to spend on a tuner/track car.... or even 30k lol. I'm 24 and working just to keep the bills paid and get my career started finally to live out my dream. These cars are amazing, I'm already in love with my starquest. And with the help and knowledge I've already recieved from you guys on SQC I believe this is the car that will get me where I need to be. And hopefully with how rare they are and different they are than your average s13 ( i still love 240s i have mad respect lol) Maybe it will help me gain some respect from all that I can. I've been drifting since drifting wasn't even big yet haha. Messing around with my little crappy cars in highschool years back getting sideways anytime I could. Years went by and now i'm a little older, a little smarter.. and still just as eager to build up a nice car to start smoking out tracks wherever I can haha. With all that being said I'll now get to my 88 Conquest Tsi and what I have done so far and what is in the works for the near near future. When I bought this thing I bought it from a young kid that I don't believe knew what he even had. He thought the engine was shot becuase it had no oil pressure and was leaking major amounts of oil. Knowing that ahead of time I just prepared for the worst. I was thinking I would have to throw a used engine in or have it rebuilt as a worst case scenario. So either way I wanted the Quest and put her on a trailer and brought her home for a verrrrrrrry nice price lol. After having it home and checking out a few things I discovered that one of the main oil lines coming off the block by the oil pressure sending unit was completely erroded and not connected. So after I replaced that she fired right up and I found other little problems haha. Heres a list of what I can remember I've done so far. Cosmo Racing Intake System. Intake Manifold Gasket was shot replaced that E-fan wiring kit was crap and fans weren't coming on. Got a new wiring kit wired up and fans kick on fine now. 3'' Mookeeh Exhaust- Deleted the cat while installing this also. All new vacuum lines and connectors. Wasn't building boost properly before and didn't have a line going to BOV. Top and lower radiator hoses. Then a few little cosmetic things here and there and tinkering to get her running decently. I bought a set of Ksport Coilovers (just like D1's as i've heard) those are my next step. They are chilling in my living room waiting to be thrown on lol. I need to find some 225 55 R16 tires even if they are almost bald because the kid I bought it off of has huge tires in the back (not drag radials) because he liked to race people apparently lmao. With those rear tires on there is no chance I can get that suspension on as I already rub the rears over any bump. ( And i am not a fan of the drag look) But this is the next step in my process is getting this suspension on and getting a good wheel/tire set up following the install. I've already met some really knowledgable people on here and I really appreciate all the feedback and help. I am a newbie in the StarQuest group but i've been a car enthusiast forever. So all the help/knowledge I can get with these cars I will take to my Quest and will be thankful all the way. It's truely a culture with these machines and I've realized that only in a short amount of time. I recommend anyone looking to put D'1s or Ksport on their car to talk to BC99 about his service. Thats who is going to do mine and he has done many others and everyone is impressed with him. Also Drake (87quest) is very knowledgeable and helpful with parts and questions. Both of these guys are awesome and I appreciate both of you. I know there are many other people on here that have info/parts/help for quests and I give Kudos to you guys too. I just haven't had the pleasure to meet everyone on here yet and I hope I get to. I don't get to get on here as much as I'd like currently but that should change soon. Finally getting a house with a GARAGE!! All of my fellow city livers know what I'm talking about haha. I will NOT keep my quest in a city street where drunk people mess cars up every night where i live haha.. NOPE. I park my Quest at my buddies house right now to keep her safe until I move into my new house with a nice garage. Either way this project is about to go full steam soon. Nice to be here, Nice to meet you guys. I look forward to the StarQuest journey ahead. Thanks guys!!! here are a few pics so far. Looks better everyday. Also I will be getting rid of all my back interior and its black leather in nearly perfect shape let me know if anyone is interested. I have all the back/trunk pieces too.
