so i buy this black 87 from quickconq without a motor.

it sets for a few weeks waiting for garage space.

then i roll her in...

http://www.ilostmymind.com/upload/DSCN2499.JPG

now she has all my mock up parts in her waiting for a trans mount to be built.

i just did the engine mounts, but didnt take pics.. they arent done (or pretty enough yet)

It will be running a mostly stock 4g63 w/ a tubular exhaust manifold and a h1c/e hangin off there. I'll use megasquirt and spark on a v3 board for the ecu.

The th350 has a reverse manual valve body (PRN123) w/ trans brake. and an IPT Custom 4k stall converter w/ buschurs flex plate and adapter plate.

I got a B&M Megashifter for her, thats all mounted up, but I need to put the trim pieces on, or I'd have a pic of that too.

I have a set of 8's and 9's comin for her, since they didnt come with the car to put her back at SHP status.

I think it will do alright with this setup.

btw, a th350 slides in pretty smooth vs a th400 :o

but that powerglide just WANTS to go in with my stroker! 8)

and thats how yah do it!

i cut and welded the intake manifold myself.. yay for aluminum mig!

the lower pipe is the coolant from the water pump, i have to make a pipe to run it from the back of the head to the front, but it will fit between the plenum and the runners. I already jigged it up, but at the moment it doesnt stay there.

i had to goto a coolant cooled oil housing because the air cooled housing doesn't clear the sway bar. :( but that just means less oil lines tracing all over. and more room up front for my trans cooler (i need it w/ the transbrake) :D

i have to extend the hp side of the power stearing pump lines, but the lp one reaches fine, but im gonna replace it w/ a new one because it looks a bit ragged out.

takin the driveshaft in tomorrow morning to get modified, should run less than $100.. then i need to weld up my intake manifold so its air tight.. the current one was my first ever aluminum welding experience.. it is not air tight...

So I got the driveshaft back, thinking I would have to move my motor/trans mounts.

but to my suprise it fits just like stock.

basically just cut the driveshaft off at the weld, and weld on a th350 yoke!

then this guy comes to help me finish my beers.

Tonights progress:

The black cooler behind the IC is the trans cooler.

Intake is all welded up. I need to put a few more clamps on ;)

Have the 3in exhaust welded up and heat wrapped where needed.

I got all my wheels mounted and balanced. I'll be runnin 7" fronts and 9" rears.

The custom alt and power steering brackets came out pretty good, everything seems to line up.

I mounted the bov outside of the engine bay, so it will prolly make some real noise. This car wont be driven on a daily basis, so save the comments about it being exposed to the elements please.

Tomorrow, i will work on the upper water hose (comes from the back of the head), and the oil feed/drain for the turbo, then i need to play with the fuel feed/return lines, then its all electrical really. (the fun stuff!)

enjoy!

see how well the evo8 ic fits..

http://www.ilostmymind.com/upload/camera/87conquest/DSCN2772.JPG

and how well the 4g63 fits...

so far, it'll start, but i need to mess with the cranking pw. cause its kinda dependent on temp.

its holding water and oil.

timing is 0'd in.

the few times i have checked its running 16:1 afr at idle, and its lumpy.. i need to check that out.

but other than that, so far so good.

his name is jhiaxus (gee-axis).

The turbo was second hand from a turbo mustang project.

I'm not sure of the origin. From searching it looks like it could have came from an 89-94 cummins possibly, except mine has an h1e wheel in the h1c housing. more flow.

and for the engine bay paint. i dont want to tackle that project. :P
