I didn't see a good option elsewhere, so here's the deal. I paid to have a cover panel set up and made, and the CNC design is ready to roll out more for you guys. Prices include what they charge, shipping (around $5) + $5 each to me for gas money to pick up & ship.

This is a must if going with Autometer or other aftermarket gauges that don't fit our stock gauge console. You can eyeball and cut one out, but not exact if keeping the turn signals and warning lights working. I'm not making money on this, just want to forward the good fortune of having a buddy that does CNC on the side for reasonable time & materials cost.

For those replacing the stock gauge cluster with Autometer or other aftermarket gauges:

  • 1/8" thick, CNC measured & produced
  • black plastic or aluminum
  • 2 bigger holes = 3 3/8" (for tach & speedo) and 3 smaller = 2 1/16"
  • cutouts for turn signals & 9 warning lights on bottom to show clearly.
  • No extra holes for mounting screws/rivot/etc - rear mounts for aftermarket gauges will hold it in place.
  • Would be a great pairing with Outcast Horizon's Radio (what I'm doing :) ) kit: http://www.starquest...el#entry1088773

PRICING:

  • $55 shipped for black plastic.
  • $100 shipped for each aluminum.
  • more $ for hand polishing of alum too, or could CNC a brushed pattern into the alum!
  • powder coating available for a small price add-on (will get quote if interested)
  • $5 off ship for each additional since they'll go out together. Ex. 2 plastic is $100 shipped, one of each $150, etc.

This WILL require some cutting of the stock black plastic gauge front panel and white underlay as this panel will simply cover them, fitting snugly over top. I WILL be documenting the process of installing Autometer gauges with this panel, to show where to cut what, and which wires to use, eliminate, etc.

DATES AND PAYMENT: Open for more orders.

  • Please POST what you want here so we can hopefully combine orders when this gets bumped
  • Send Paypal to: mstieg@gmail.com and INCLUDE your SQC NAME & what you ordered with Paypal $$ sent (in comments) so I know who is paying for what.
  • Once received, I'll put in the order & keep you updated. Depending on their availability of material and time, these could take a week or two. (since this is a side job for them, which they are cutting us a great deal on).

Any questions please ask!!

Let me know what the final $$ will be. Ready to send payment

So far few have followed through since the first interest poll thread, and I've not received any payments.

Please Paypal to: mstieg@gmail.com

I'll still put in an order next week, but it looks like $55 for the black ABS plastic panel unless a few more people get on board and actually pay. I'm not up for paying out of pocket for a bunch of these to be made that may or may not sell.

I'll take one... I just kinda want confirmation you can still get the panel behind it to work with the aftermarket since they stick out so much further. It looks great though.

Is there any way we can get the turn signal cut a bit lower? For most people with smaller diameter steering wheel, it's hard to see the turn sig. Or can they leave that blank for me? I wanna try using one of the top warning lights as turn signals. I don't think they do much anyways for a heavily modded car.

Just a thought.

What's the cost of a brushed aluminum? When you say brushed... are we talking about the swirl style like the Trans Am? Please let me know, & thanx. ;)

Since Tae is the only one paid up so far, lets extend this a few days or a week until I can resolve your questions. I hope to finish cutting the white plastic today and get you pics, line it all up, and check the fit. Looks good so far.

I'll ask him about running yours without the turn signal holes. It shouldn't be a problem to do that. In fact with the green arrow pieces out, I noticed those are a tad to the outside, so I'll get him to bring em in to line up perfectly vs. what you see in my recent pic. Moving to another area would depend on your line of sight and you'd have to mount the green arrow tabs and bulbs yourself. I'm keeping the white stock mounts for simplicity.

Can you give me a pic of what you're wanting? He can program that into the CNC process, so without checking, I'd figure the swirls could be as big or small as you like. That would look pretty sweet. I hope to hear back from him today.

I know this is probably going to drive you nuts. Any chance the holes for the gauges can be cut in a smaller diameter. I was basically thinking of putting the gauges in from behind after removing the bezel ring. Also this should let me use the clear plastic cover in front of the gauges. I will still want one I am thinking either way. I suppose I could have a ring welded on the inside of the holes. If you have my email please remind me to send money! :) Edited by creakyjoints

I hear you if wanting to keep the clear plastic front, but 'm doubtful there is enough depth to fit the gauges with bezels completely behind the panel. Keep in mind this panel fits on top of the stock black panel and frame that holds it, and won't be supported without that, so they'd be about an inch further back than my setup, which as you see is already fairly tight, but (edit - just saw that you intend to remove the bezels)

This is a mock up, as I still need to secure the fuel & pyro, wire up & test, but I traced down the circuitry and it's looking easier than I thought. It helps I had the gauge bulbs already working with stock dimmer circuit. Yes they dim too  :)

^*Also - I didn't take pics of the black frame cuts, but it's pretty simple - just Dremmel out whats in the way between the 2 stock tiny holes.

Before you make the final order lets just be clear on whats happening lol.

Yes - of course I'll make sure all's legit before getting them cut out. It's looking like custom for everybody!?

Based on sizing this up I don't think it'll work for ya Creaky, unless you have special narrow-depth gauges.

I'm good with what you have as long as I can make it work and it lines up. I havn't cut on the white piece like you did yet. Kinda glad I didn't. I'll also take any advice on you hooking up your fuel gauge to the "factory" wires? Was having a hard time deciing what to do with the circuit.
