  1. Looking for a td05 or similar turbo to replace the one I have. Would not be against getting a upgraded turbo. Paypal ready. Fastest way to get ahold of me is by text. 3I6-2O7-O7ll
  2. I see no reason it would be unsafe. It's properly vented, wired and secured. P/o did a good job on it. Yea, car was originally a maroon interior and it was switched out completely. And it's still the factory paint job aside from the starion turbo hatch and spoilers that I filled in the antena and wiper holes. And the grill had also been reprinted. At some point by a previous owner. I am starting up at college on Monday so the sooner the better on selling this car. Shoot me an offer!
  3. I know I don't have many posts here but I do frequent the Mazda rx7 forum regularly and I have good feedback there. I posted my car up on craigslist a while back but so far I've only had low ballers and tire kickers with crappy trades. So I figure I might as well post it up here where people actually know these cars. I still have it for sale locally so whoever gets me the cash first gets the car first. Engine and transmission were both built up 15K miles ago. (Proven build) Engine was built to handle plenty of further modifications but it is set up right now for longevity rather than raw power. Car runs and drives great, but has its occasional quirkiness as do all cars of this vintage. The interior is in fantastic shape for its age. Black leather interior. Car is still the factory white color (The most stable and durable of the factory colors from what I have seen) but the paint does show its age here and there but presents itself nicely. Just put on a brand spankin' new set of Hankook Ventus S1 noble2 High Performance All-Season Tires. The wheels are painted with plasti-dip, so if you don't like blue wheels, you can just peel it off and have the factory wheels back, I'll even do it for you. I have an extensive list of what I have done to this car, so if you would like to see it I can email it to you or give you a paper copy. Here is the quick and dirty of what had been done: -Fresh 12a Turbo with custom Intercooler piping -Extensive head porting -Balance shafts eliminated -Stage 4 Competition Clutch -Short shifter -Full 3" mandrel bent exhaust -Aluminum radiator Ron's "bad" series. -Newer struts on all four corners, rides very nice -Stainless brake lines and oil lines -Relocated battery to trunk And much more! The price I'm asking is $4900 which I think is extremely fair considering what your getting. I would be willing to ship the car but the deal better be right. This is a great car and I hate to see it go, but it just isn't a practical school car for a college student. I would possibly trade for another car as long as it is a manual transmission. Not really interested in a trade for another conquest, I'd keep my car if I decided I wanted one right now. This car could not be built for this much, I have more than this in it myself. and receipts for most of the work done to it. 4. Well I just found out that you shouldn't trust what the previous owners says about parts. Found out what I thought was a 17c turbo is actualy a 12a turbo with the one peice journal bearing. When I called g-pop shop, they told me that they havent made a rebuild kit for that particular turbo in 20 years and they ran out of parts 5 years ago. Either I have to buy a new bearing housing and turbine shaft, or buy one of theirrebuild turbos. To do a rebuildt td05 turbo, they quoded me ~$665. was hoping to get this done in one day now it will take another week! Now I gotta go on the hunt for a new turbo. Anyone know where one is avaliable? I'm on my way to check ebay and the forsale section here.
  5. Cool, so is there a good source for turbo rebuild kits online besides ebay? I'm always kind of suspicious of those generic kits. Thanks for the quick reply!
  6. So I have a 1988 conquest 5speed that has been bored over and had the head re worked by the previous owner. Anyway when I bought the car I knew the turbo was leaking because it would puff smoke when I was shifting hard. It has on it a 17c turbo with custom intercooler and air cleaner piping. The thing is I know nothing about turbos, I've traditionally been more of a na power kind of guy. I'm not sure if I should just replace the turbo with a smaller turbo (12a or 16g?) because I hate turbo lag, or should rebuild the turbo that is on there. I have access to a shop and tools, so I could probably do either myself. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  7. I'm a new owner of a 1988 conquest TSi and im in the process of getting it tuned right at a local shop. The two problems it is in for are that it is a pain in the butt to start when it is cold (Have to hold the throttle at 2k for like 3 min.) and it needs a general tune. Noticed the car doesn't have the original maf sensor but one off of the 1st gen eclipse, without a translator, and it might be causing some issues. Was told by the previous owner that is was just plug and play upgrade from the factory maf. Anyway here are my questions: 1. Would a 1gen eclipse maf without a translator cause a hard start issue? How do I know if the Maf is bad? 2. If so would it be better to run the original maf or upgrade to the gm 3" or 3.5" maf with translator? Thanks in advance.
