I'm working on a 1987 Conquest with a no start condition. It has no spark. Has power to the coil and knock box. If I tickle the negative side I can get spark. Can someone help me? I'm thinking it's the knock box. But it's a pricey guess.

Theres a post on here somewhere that showes how to fix the knock box. Basically, open it and resolder the connections.
Have you checked all the grounds and cleaned them?
I got blisters on my fingers!!!

yes, the grounds to the knock box were not even connected to the bracket when I started looking at it. That is the ground right above the knock box on the relay bracket??

Yes theres a ground there on the inner wheel well above the relays
Theres also one on the side of the engine block, one on the frame rail direct from the neg battery. One on the pass side wheel well opposite where the relay tree is. Its next to the air intake tube

I'll try that tomorrow. I take it is a fairly common problem with this year. I've had a 88 and a 89 never had a problem.

I'd like to but haven't found one yet. I have a MSD box for a turbo and tach adapter
