Bazooka Tubes and Kicker Speakers?

I used to have two 12 inch kenwood subs in a sealed box in the quest, but it just rattled the crap out of my hatch, and it wont fit back there anymore because of the strut tower brace and battery re-locate. Also, I was getting tired of all the boom. So, I threw the box in the Bronco and bought a 6.5" Bazooka Tube. Yea, I know, major down grade. But, it was cheap and is small enough to fit in the back and still be able to toss my book bag back there.

Also, I purchased some Kicker KS650's for the doors and KS600's for the rear.

I just want some full, clear music. I have never owned any bazooka, or kicker products so I dont know what I got myself into. But, maybe some of yall can tell me how you think my system will do. Think it will sound good?

THE SYSTEM

Head Unit:Kenwood HD

Door Speakers:Kicker KS650

Rear Speakers:Kicker KS600

Sub:Bazooka 8ohm DVC

Four Channel Amp:Alpine MRP-F250

Sub Amp:Alpine MRP-M500

I already had this amp, which is why I went with 8ohm DVC Bazooka, so I could wire it to 4 ohms and reach it's max RMS at 300watts

Wiring: Street wires 6 Channel RCA, Scosche 14 gauge for the door speakers and rears, Scosche 8 gauge amp power wires.

EDIT: I will probably upgrade the sub later on down the road to maybe a 10" or 12" bazooka tube.

kickers sound pretty good. if you want to save space and have a great sub look into getting a Tang Band 8. I bought one to play with in my quad cab ram. I have a PB DVC 12 in there now and I took that out and put in the Tang Band 8 in a .8 cubic foot box with a 2"x6" port. The 8 was just as loud as my 12. I couldn't believe it. Another great 8 inch sub in a preloaded inclosure is the new DD series 300 in their prefab box. Put a 10 in there and had to go to the 8 because the 10 was just too much. Takes up very little room and the DD 8 or the Tang Band 8 will play as loud as you want them to. I would go with the DD8 for 169 in a box and be done. it would fit under your strut bar (pretty sure) and it would be all you need. My 2 cents

Bazooka tubes can get loud given their size, but won't provide the clarity you're looking for. they're good for that "ghetto bass"

but then again, ghetto bass is better than none, and with not much room in the trunk it's a pretty good idea

lol Ok I will definatly upgrade the sub then. Oh, Garychoffmann, my strut tower brace has the battery tray attached to it. So nothing will fit underneath it unfortunatly. I will figure something out.

Sounds like you got some good stuff. Kicker makes great speakers, and the rest of your eqipment is pretty good too. I wouldn't discredit the bazooka sub until you try hooking it up. Bazooka tubes sound a little muddier than your standard subs in a sealed box, but it will be hard to get "ghetto bass" out of any sub setup smaller than an 8". That little 6" sub may sound a little looser like an 8" or so, and may sound just about right. It all depends on the music you listen to tho.

Just be sure to get a powered Bazooka instead of the passive... unless you have an amp to run the Bazooka.

I do have the Alpine MRP-M500 already so it will be another passive. Something that can handle 300watts RMS or more. I was looking at the JL audio power wedge. But I dont know if I can lay it down back there and still fit the cargo cover over it.

I love Bazooka tubes. I've put one in every car I've owned. I have a 10" in both my Quest and Escalade. I have replaced the SAS speakers with Rockford Fosgate in both and running around 300rms in both cars. I love my "ghetto bass" :)
