If one thing sticks out about this site, its that it really hasnt visually changed much (or im not much for detail) and Im not saying its a bad thing.
In fact its a familiar, comforting thing.

A lot like going home after being gone for years. Seeing that something like a ballcap is still hanging where you left it. But like that house, the clock still ticks. As time passes so do important parts of this community. People that poured countless hours in to keeping this motley crew powering on.

But the paint ages and cracks, the kids grow up and move on, the old news gets boxed up and archived because long ago someone made that problem obsolete. New people move in with new ideas and ability. The boxes get forgotten along with the people that made it so they could be pushed aside.

Ive been apart of this community for 17yrs. Crazy! And there were many before that. And yet we still forget people and their knowledge/efforts. I would like to see some form of memorial for members we have lost to time.

Something as simple as a banner with their name, year lost, picture of them or their vehicle across the page somewhere. Id say its the least this community could do.

Phil

I COULDN'T AGREE MORE!!!

Many other car forums have done something similar. Ken, John, Shelby, maybe even Wayne are a few that come to mind right away.

The same members came to mind for me. Including wayne. You cannot deny his efforts regardless of his shortcomings.

There was a member looong ago that had helped me out a lot. TriStarion was still around. He was very sick, and in a wheelchair. On his best days, he could take it out.

Over time he disappeared from the boards. I have no idea what happened to him. Shame

I can't believe more members aren't commenting on this. Especially from the old school crew. Never thought I'd be here for 20 years, but here I am.
Our fallen friends have collectively put in more time, love and effort than most everyone else here combined.
Some type of memorial recognition is far overdue.

Having the pleasure of calling John a friend and the pain of watching him go, then speaking with his family after the fact. There aren't words for the gratitude they have toward our little community and what it all meant to him.

Wayne... lol what a guy! We all had our opinions and I'll leave it at that. He was always good to me.

Ken's stories will live on forever. Just like his quest, apparently! He showed us all something that wasn't supposed to be possible.

Heck, I never even met Shelby, but made it a point to donate so he got to the TSQ meet. After his passing I sent cards and calls. We are a family here.

It's time to give back for all of our fellow SQ addicts gone too soon

I think this is a great idea. I consider myself "newer" compared to those guys, but I did get to interact with all of them and I think there's something to be said for valuing their contributions to rest of us who have come after.

Definitely put up a page or thread dedicated to those "true starquest soldiers".

What about all that valuable info on SQperformance ? Can/will it be dragged over here/preserved ?

I remember there used to be like a proven recipee thread, where members posted their setup details + dyno + dragstrip info on SQC
dunno where that/those pages went. Had lotsa good stuff. I swiped a few n saved em somehwere on this pc

I feel the same way. There is enough senior member here that this site should run smooth. Maintenance shouldnt be a issue.

Losing members over almost 20yrs here is hard even when you never meet them. Ken Shelby wayne then John. Knowing John personally was the hardest lose for me. John was a great friend and an asset to this community. I would invite John on vacation with me. Along with Mike/psu_crash we had alot of great times with John. I will never forget what John has done for me.

We can use something on this site to remember thise who gave so much. And i think we can also do it for the other long time members that are still with us. Just a thought
