Hey guys,

just recently rebuilt and put in my throttle body. It looks like my tophat is leaking gas, from the top most part. This is the part that is strange to me. It almost looks like it is coming from the nuts from the FPR. Is this possible to leak from there? Where else could a tophat leak from?

Here is a picture with a circle around the area that has gas. Quite a bit comes out.

One of the things I am thinking it could be are the o-rings for the fpr. There are two of them correct? I put two of them on. I am wondering if I put them on wrong.

It's been a while  but pretty sure there is a couple of them in there. Maybe 3 small  and one larger.

Yes, there are o-rings on the FPR.  I wonder if you got one pinched or it's creased or something.  The nice part is that is a very easy part to take off and take a look at.  The only thing to look for would be a hairline crack in the aluminium.  That area gets pretty thin.

So I think there are only supposed to be two o rings.

One of them looks fine, the other looks like it's been scraped up. Sort of like it could have been pinched. Other than that, I don't really see anything else that could be wrong.

Figured out the issue. There is a hairline crack.

So I'll need a new tophat.

Very cool. Glad you guys worked this out like men ..rationally . I broke one once tapping on it with a wrench like a dumb dumb. I used to beat on my 4 wheeler carbs and they would work better. Not the case with these lol
