parted ways with my other projects and decided to focus on the one good/running car i had and make it mint(and change the color)

first part was getting rid of the after market sunroof which Slowquest took care of and posted pics elsewhere

2nd was getting it stripped down for body work and sending the engine off to Dad's for a rebuild .....despite being a low mile engine (65k) it had a cracked head among other things wrong ><

now my body guy is working on the car. the 2 fenders were NiB and have been initially mounted ...... the 2 NiB 1/4s are in the process....one has been put on and the other side has been cut off and waiting to fix the wheel well rust issues before that goes on

finally there is some progress on the car

i'll update as the work progresses

body guy is making steady progress.......since the last pics the wheel liner rust was dealt with and the driver side 1/4 hung....

.....and Dad said the engine should be ready soon....but it's looking less likely that i will get to drive it this year due to fall/winter being right around the corner...and there is no way this car will ever see rain or snow/salt

maybe if i'm lucky and there is enough time i will get time to break the engine in before i have to park it for the year

yup.....the hang up is the body guy....he does it by trade but my job is on the side so he works on it when he has the time.... which i dont mind because he's very good and communicates well every step of the way

but once i get the shell back from him....it will go back to slowquest for reassembly after we reevaluate what is still needed to be replaced, cleaned, or otherwise attended to

it started out as a very nice car.....but i want it to be like new when i'm done with it.....so there is no real rush......just withdrawal :P

and it's easy to lose motivation when you don't get to experience the finished product for such a long time :P

paint wont be done till october so no chance ill get to drive it this year before parking it for the winter.....so i was gently persuaded into doing the ls1 swap i was considering....so that's the direction i'm going now

i have plans to pick up the engine pullout this weekend

slowquest will get the reman'd g54 that Dad is currently working on....and i guess i will be selling some of the parts i had hoarded...like the 52mm TB kit....and the NIB 14g turbo

here is some pics of the body work progress

what do you mean the interior? like the interior paint on the chassis? if you mean chassis then probably yes....since the car has to be completely stripped now that i'm going ls1 to cut the tranny tunnel there is really no reason not to do it
