Turbo Cary
Just got an safc 2. Currently I am using a 3" gm maf and translator. I was wondering how to wire it in. Do you need to have the Maf t output go into the Safc input, then from the safc to the ecu? In this order Maf - translator box - safc - ecu Or maf - safc - maf t - ecu Also is a tach adapter required for the safc or will it read our factory analog signal? hopefull noob
1. First way. Translate the signal first. 2. Don't think so, but that is just from reading here, have never run one. Just one humble opinion among many. Hn
Turbo Cary
Alright. Looking over the wiring diagram for the safc I have most of it figured out but still have two questions. The wires are: Red - 12v ignition switch ( R )Green - RPM (?)Purple - Knock (?)Gray - Tps (GW)Brown - Ground ( B )Black - Ground ( B )Pink - AFS output (WB)Orange -AFS input (Maf T output) Im not sure where to tap for the rpm and knock signal. For the knock should I tap the YB ignition advance wire at the ecu or tap the knock sensor from the wire directly at it? What wire should be used for the RPM signal? The W shielded wire or the LgB wire for the coil speed? Or tap it on the body harness for the tach? Edited January 23, 2015 by Turbo Cary
860QuestTuner
In how to section under electrical last post on first page has the wiring. If rpm is off try setting for 2 cylinder or get a potentiometer to adjust signal
StarquestRescue
Do not bother with the purple knock wire. That feature does not work. I would wire every thing in at the ecu.
