  1. That's almost exactly the wheel I'm looking for, what are they called. I tried searching for what they're called here and found nothing. Where can I find them?
  2. yeah, topend did it and sold it for like a thousand freakin' dollars. Ridiculous
  3. edit: so what's the deal here typert? Â If you don't have time to keep up with demand, why do you have time to list this manifold on EBAY?
  4. K, just sent a marnal in for port and polish, can't sit on this any more, gotta move on to other options. Car will be up for PF one way or another. Could still use a spare distributor but don't get me a 2G head.
  5. this is a good discussion. Supposedly the block and head surfaces have to be perfect for the MLS gasket to work right but they should be perfect any time you go to the trouble of opening the engine so that's neither here nor there if you ask me. I've also heard the MLS gasket doesn't grip the head and block like say a felpro would. the two steel layers can slide on the fiber sandwiched between them, and the top layer of steel can slide on the head and bottom layer can slide on the block. That would tell me that an MLS gasket is more forgiving in over heat situations, while maintaining added strength, making it safer to run higher boost. Just know that what you lose with a copper or MLS gasket is that safety valve of a weak gasket. Ask Mike K, and me, if you pull a head and find a damaged MLS steal Gasket, you can be pretty sure you'll also find piston damage. These things are tough.
  6. That looks good. I'm interested to see how the engine handles all that air without krankvents. if that's a new motor be wary of boosting it much at all until you figure out how much blow by you're going to get. The only time I've wanted a stepper motor or IAC was during cold starts. If you have A/C you'd want it too. I know the hawk has provisions for a/c idle adjustment but I'm not using it, as I'm not using a/c. the hawk has to control a 4 wire delco iac and the ford iac that bolts right up to the ford TB is a two wire. Therefore, installing an idle air controller would require changing throttle bodies. Definitely something I plan for the future but for now it idles fine without it.
  7. why would glen send you a manifold with no fuel rail? did you ask him wt....? the magna rail is sweet because the fittings on the fuel filter work on the fuel rail. What are they called banjo bolts or something? anyway. I made a fuel line out of two stock lines with a straight through fitting and two clamps.
  8. You should have received it by now. Â If you didn't then there is a chance that your address wasn't in the list of 7 that I left for my girlfriend to ship gaskets to. Â If you did get the gasket, send $68 to: Harry Fowler 43 Tulifinny Lane Yemassee, SC Â 29945 If I had time to ask you for payment, I'd have had time to ship the gaskets myself. Â I get about an hour a week out here that I can get online. Â If you sent me an address to ship to, you probably got a gasket. Â Post your address and I'll email it to my girl and ask her if it's on the list of addresses I gave her.
  9. Ok here's the quickest solution for this deal. Either the sender or the recipient can make the claim for the damage. If the sender makes the claim the recipient has to ship the product back to the sender. This can cause all sorts of problems with proving the damage happened in the original shipment. So now the problem is proving the value of the item, and proving you bought it for the amount for which you are making claim. That is going to be a challenge. In our situation I'm the only one who can easily prove that I bought 8 gaskets. I'll call TEP and ask for individual receipts for all of you if it comes to that. If I tell them it means they might sell a few more they'll probably be fine with it being the money hungry bastages they are. You need to take proof of purchase/value, the product/gasket, and the packaging with the insurance sticker on it. They will start a claim and you'll get a claim number like any other insurance claim. if you assess the packaging to be inadequate I'm not gonna tell you to commit fraud but in my opinion, when they Post Office sold my girlfriend the insurance they agreed that the packaging was adequate. There is no reason for a post shipment packaging quality assessment in my opinion but they are going to make one. so it might be in your best interest to wrap some bubble wrap around it or add a layer of cardboard or something. Again, not suggesting anything, just saying what might not hurt. I also told her to write DO NOT BEND on all of them, if that didn't happen, now wouldn't be a bad time. When you're making your argument, insist that if it was packaged well enough to sell the insurance, then it's damn well packaged well enough to pay out for the ENTIRE insured amount. Let me know what if any help I can be and sorry for what's become a hellish GP for some of you. If I had any idea any of the things I've had to do where on the horizon I'd never have taken on a GP of any sort.
  10. they were all insured for $70. I did that because I wasn't the one doing the packaging. I was very specific with my girlfriend about how I wanted them packaged but I'm sure she did her best in her limited experience with such things. I'll let her know and see what has to be done for the claim. I've used them with 90degree bends in them with no sealing issues what-so-ever. Hopefully some of the one's with minor damage will be usable and simply refunded. So you basically get it for free. once torqued they really can be used in almost any state, but you deserve an unmolested pristine version of this gasket for you money so again, sorry I couldn't handle the shipping myself but we'll sort it out. I'm calling the usps now.
  11. Hey gents, first off I aplogize for any inconvenience. Something happened alright, but I'll spare you the details unless you pm me and want to hear about it. I'll give you what you want most first. The gaskets were shipped today. I am 3000 miles from home and that's about all I can say. If you check you'll see that my last post on sqc.com before this one was the one where I told you that I had just received the gaskets. Since then my entire life has been uprooted and that was LITERALLY, the last time I was online for any reason what-so-ever. My inability to ship the gaskets has not changed, but I had my Girlfriend ship them for me as you will likely notice by the handwriting. In the past I've come down hard on people who failed to enlist the help of family and friends when they were otherwise disposed, so I had to practice what I've preached and burdon her with the job. I can not promise they are packaged well but I had her ship them 2 to 3 day priorty at my expense and many of you will eventually get a refund for the difference. They are also insured. Ken B you certainly are a great American and I hope that if you are ever wronged by a member that the rest of the members will take up a collection to right that wrong. You take unnecessary risks for the benefit of others and you should be commended for it. Again, in the days that have passed without word I assure you I had no optioni to make any contact. I missed the Gainsville meet and that might actually be the last thing I posted, I don't really remember but those posts should have been in the same hour. I'll say there was police involvement, but my career and my health are in tact, and I now live in a different place and am short a couple friends but otherwise unscathed. Goodluck on your installs and please accept my apology, it was unavoidable.
