The car stock can be a good driver but the question is at what point on a 30+ year old car do you stop trusting the systems that run it and begin to restore the car? It's one thing to find a car you can fix up and make a solid driver, and another thing to find one on the street and just drive it. It just depends on the condition of whatever you get. I think a well maintained car that is close to stock is your best bet.

Sounds good to me. I think I'm gonna make the plunge. I'm expecting to work on it anyways. I saw the new owners checklist on here so I'm just gonna go down the list.

I found one that looks to be in good shape. Talking to the guy, there doesn't seem to be mechanical issues and he still uses it for local driving. (Also the original owner)

I'm going to take a look at it this weekend and purchase it if it checks out.

Definitely have the owner take that bra off so you can see what's underneath! Good luck.

Bought it. In the club now haha!

Mechanically I'm really impressed with it. Body wise, it needs some work. The bottom edges of the body panels below the door are starting to rust on the edges. It also needs a new exhaust pipe.

Luckily my uncle is a bodyshop worker and he's gonna help me deal with the rust. For everything mechanical though I'm doing it myself.

Can't wait to start wrenching.
