Not yet. I'd like to hear from Suzie at Mtn. Breeze personally to see what has changed since our last conversation in 2013. I liked the hotel, but not the threat of shut up/be quiet or get kicked out. We like having a good time, don't feel like we get too loud, but that is my perception and not hers. I would like the reassurance that we will be welcomed and tolerated there like any group meeting at a vacation resort and not treated like we are expected to behave like we are at the Waldorf.

Breeze definitely went above as far as a host, but dropped low with their intolerance for late night noise...which we are always going to have. We only have a few days together so the day and nights are long...don't need someone pissing on our campfire just because we talk above a whisper and stay up all night.

Good point Jimmy, If you want to raise hell all night then the lodge seems to tolerate it more, But I can see the breeze not really knowing our group and things did get a bit crazy for them. Well it's all in discussion at this point.

Not speaking to the firing but tossing firecrackers around in any motel is going to a problem. It would be extremely threatening in terms of liability. People might say all kinds of things.

Jerry, I would suggest composing it in Microsoft Word or a similar program and saving it. Then copy and paste here, that will preserve your original on your pc with a copy here. Personally, the extra 50 bucks could be a deal breaker for me and perhaps others. I did not like Suzie's attitude towards me when I tried to step in and put an end to the incident. What have I ever done to deserve disrespect and talking down to?

 

As far as her saying no member was blacklisted, she told me that Kyle Heddman was on the blacklist and would never be allowed to reserve a room or stay there again. Believe her or believe me; I have no reason to lie or distort the truth. I liked the hotel, but not the attitude directed towards me or our members at that time. My biggest concern is that we occupied many rooms, however, one resident that comes a couple of times a year outweighed the many rooms we paid for and the fact we get a little rowdy. We always get a little rowdy, but not to the point of being threatened to call the law to us. So if we go back, we need to act like church mice or live under the threat of being kicked out or arrested???? I'd rather stay in the street than live under that. Suzie further demonstrated her lack of tolerance for noise by trying to shut up the employees of the business next door aka Bennetts when they closed.

I got on here strictly to try & "recompose" what I had 1st written. Just so any & all could understand the how & why of the "fact" according to Ms. Suzie Campbell that: "WE, as a Club" were most certainly WELCOME Back @ Mountain Breeze! Also... that "OUR Clubs name" was still in Good Standing within the community! As well... according to Ms. Campbell: "No One" had been "Black Listed/Couldn't Return" other than the Young Man who had been lighting & tossing firecrackers off of the balcony! That there were "NO Other Member Names" involved.

 

It should have been received as "Good News" to the members of this Club who care about it's good name, & theirs.

 

However, it seems: Because "We the Club" get "Reduced Rates" during possibly the "Highest Visited Week" of the season, & with extra amenities as well... "That's Not Enough?" Apparently we should also receive "Cart Blanche" for any of our actions, including the "Illegal Ones" that would require Police involvement. (especially when you have another "Guest" pushing for the Manager/Owner to act on it) What would you expect afterwards? Naturally she's going to be "up in arms," & keeping a close eye on things! Let's be responsible here: when whomever steps across the line; expect them to be responsible for their actions, & expect it to roll over on the Club if applicable. This is her livelihood! I'm sure she doesn't want the local Police making rounds through the parking lot regularly, or the locals getting who knows what said about Our Club; or do we want to be on the Local Police's "watch list" every year?

 

As for taking the time to learn how to do these computer savvy items that I know nothing about, or take the amount further necessary to regroup what I had posted: I really don't see the point. It just seems to breed further animosity, & excuses for our behavior? Instead... of Us as a Club, looking @ just what type of decorum we should be thinking about projecting? We "ALL" want to have a good time @ these events; & we most certainly can without crossing the line. Yes, it's their line... & not ours.

 

I came back to this thread (which in IMHO has taken on the shaping of a "Cluster") to find personal rubs, & excuses for them; & our conduct. It is what it is, let's man up & except consequences for our behavior; & "BE Glad" we are still welcome in town! I find it unfortunate, & interesting that this thread has turned as it has, & that the information we received was @ best a "Misunderstanding." I hope there is follow through with "The Club" as far as Mountain Breeze is concerned in getting to the bottom of this involving another member than myself. As it appears as "Good News" has been received as something other than that.

 

I will reiterate: Let's look for another Motel/Hotel other than what we "Know" to be Very Poor (V.L.) in the hopes of satisfying @ least most of us, if not "All?"

is a wonderful friend who is always willing to help anyone if he can. My wife and i will not bring our cars to the mountain thats just that we will be at the vacation lodge enven if i am by myself.

John, I'll be there with you. I can't stand liars and she definitely has done so. The almighty dollar is speaking for her now so she is saying whatever is needed to get our business. It is a shame that we will probably split the PF meet for the first time due to her.

shoo, what an unfortunate turn this thread has made! I know I'm not very active in this forum but I'm very interested in this thread for several reasons. Mostly because I will be at pf14, went to '12 and loved it, it was at mountain breeze. Unfortunately a deer interfered with my plans last year and I had to stay home with a beat up car, so I missed all of these shenanigans! I was very satisfied with mb when I went, great location, good rooms, pool, and a great place to see our cars, not as much to show them off to pigeon forge but for the great photo ops they created. I never went to the vacation lodge so I cannot personally weigh in on that.

 

Obviously this has become a controversial topic and as expected we have differing opinions and now two very respected members in a tiff. This is too bad, but to be expected, now in interest of the thread could we please try to get back on topic? I'm not asking anyone to 'make up', but maybe start a new thread to hash out this issue, or maybe take it to pm... The big reason why I ask is that this thread may help make an important decision on what happens for this meet.

 

Kidjc, I absolutely understand your point and objective here, you are simply stating what you heard directly from the mountain breeze, and I really appreciate seeing someone take the effort to contact them to see where 'we' (as a club) stand, this is important to me as it should be to this group. I'm glad to see our reputation in good standing with them whether we use them or not. Its too bad that what Suzy told you contradicts what she said to Jainsworth last year, but these things happen, You've got to realize that the hotel is her job and she doesn't do it just once a year, have you ever had a bad day at work? I know I have, and at the height of frustration harsh things are done and said and now after time has passed she has obviously calmed down, and please realize that on our side bad things were done. This is no excuse for her behavior, and yes, I think its terrible she said that to you you (Jainsworth) last year. Unfortunately this time it may have hit home and one of 'us' may have lost their job from this... that sucks.

 

Now here is my 2.6 (err 2.5) cents on this... Vacation lodge seems like a bad idea, a lot of bad feedback from past meets there, and a member working there who's job we don't want to jeapordize, because lets face it, we gets rowdy! At mountain breeze there is a lot of animosity, best to stay away, which is too bad, I really had fun there at pf12. I would love to get a cabin, or a few, but there are a lot of problems with the chalet's there, primarily parking. When you get up in the hills there parking is tough and the driveways are not too friendly. We would definitely need the help of a local member to go and scout these places to make sure the parking would suffice. Further, if 50 bucks extra bothers people you are in for a rude awakening, these places aren't cheap! Also a deposit will need to be made and someone will have to reserve this place (or places), this person will be liable for any damages, and lets face it, in the middle of nowhere there will be the potential for much more craziness with no one watching over us. A bigger committment will be necessary as reservations and deposits will need to happen in much more of an advance than a hotel on the strip.

 

My vote is a chalet but it seems unlikely because of the cost, and also because we will need to act pretty soon and throw down on a deposit and seriously commit to show up, I'm in for that. The most reasonable solution seems to be to find a completely new place, otherwise it seems the group will be split and I would hate to see that, and hey, maybe we will find something even better, who knows.

Ok everybody, 1st of all, YES, Suzy is a liar. Everything was fine with me working there until the night all of this happened, and the very minute I walked into the office that night for work she started screaming at me when I asked what was going on, that "my friends", was what was wrong throwing firecrackers on somebody's vehicle in the parking lot off a balcony. She absolutely DID say that next year she did not want us to come back she didn't care how many rooms we had, that we wasn't worth the trouble. She said that she should have listened to her husband that he didn't want her to take our club anyway. She also spent the night in the apartment upstairs of the motel that night just like Mikie said AND called downstairs and told me to go out and tell them to keep it down that they were getting too loud. " Which I never heard a peep anyway", she also said to me in the same conversation that it looks like if they paid for a room "they should be in it". Ms. Suzy Cambell also was raising Cain about somebody having a candle in theyer window and called the cops to patrol the parking lot that night because she said and I quote " I think that candle probably means there's a party later". Unquote. She was ranting and raving about there better not be no holes in the walls and she bet the place would be trashed the next morning.

Anyway, after that night I dreaded going to work especially if her vehicle was in the parking lot. And it was one push after another everynight when I went in until the night she fired me.

This is up to you, I don't mind going to a place that has bad reviews, heck I'll sleep in my car just to party with you guys! Please understand that there will be partying and that it may cause trouble whether we like it or not. I would hate to see your signifigant other be in potential trouble from our group, if

We all were so sorry that just a short way away you met w/ Hartford (the deer) I have down that twice in (1) year on the way to work a couple of years ago. As I have said in earlier posts, I'm hoping for another Great PF that most all come together about, hopefully another Motel/Hotel in the hopes of keeping us together.

If you're comfortable with assuming the risk, I'm comfortable with staying at your place (vl that is!). But if even 1 member has a problem with that I'd rather go elswhere... jeeze, gettin' busy here eh! This is where computers and I have a problem... what a cluster this is! Here is what I know of chalets in pf.... My first car was an '89 fiji shp, that was my dd from 17 to 30 yrs of age. from age 7 to 30 I would make a trek with the family to pf to climb and stay at the top of mt LeConte and that conquest went with me every year that I could drive and I won't lie... it was tough. Now I'll be the first to admit, I'm not much of a computer guy, and haven't got much credibility on this site, but at 17 I got my first conquest, I'm 35 now, and for 14 of those 18 years (thats an estimate) the conquest has been my daily driver, as it is currently is (yes, the one in my sig). For a long time I was on my own and even now I'm not as involved as I should be with this community as I should be (I wish you understood my love for this car). Now please lets get back on topic and stop this thread from being locked!
