Is there any special procedure to remove the oil pump? Is a puller of some kind needed or just a few taps? I know the lower BS is attached, does that make it more difficult to remove? Thanks

Thanks, I am inspecting the rod bearings and replacing timing components. My oilpan gasket was leaking too so since I feel like wrenching I figured I would do a few things. what does that mod to the pan do and exactly what did you do to it? Again thanks.

Hello, I had that problem last week. My problem was the gasket for the throttle body. Make sure you have the gasket with the sealant already on the gasket. I had the exact same problems you had. This gasket cleared up the harsh idle at start up and the burning of coolant. You may have other leaks but I know for sure that this procedure can help some of your issues.
