I will be at the point of rebuilding my suspension in a few months and am researching my options.  I've been looking around and have summarized below what I THINK is currently available.  The MR2 inserts to me aren't clear.  If anyone who knows more than me (95% of you) please chime in.  I would like to update this thread to the best links for each subject.

Option 1 – Replacement struts front and rear.
-Fronts  are still readily available from KYB
-Rears are no longer available, I have occasionally seen Sachs and Bilstiens pop up but they must be old stock that someone found in a warehouse somewhere.  Don’t know if I would want to but those.
- SHP rears can be fitted with inserts with a few modifications. http://www.starquest...showtopic=65173

Pros –
Bolt in
Cons –
Rears not available and still have to replace top mounts and probably bellows

Option 2 – D2s
Complete Coilover assemblies
Pros –
Complete units, fronts include camber plates
Ride height adjustable
Rebuildable
Cons –
Pricey
Require fabrication

Links: Contact NIKOFAB http://www.d2racing..../support/faq/
Fab Service:   http://www.starquest...howtopic=142571

Option 3 – Mookeh “rebuilt units”

Pros –
Replaces factory units at a low cost - ~ $270 w/shipping  (plus bellows and upper mounts)

Cons –
Claims to be stiffer but I’ve read many threads and actually spoke to a customer that complained they were softer than the originals. Read on comment from Burton stating that with the Mookeh coil overs sleeves his worked great.
Still have to replace top mounts and probably bellows

Option 4 – MR2 inserts

Pros-
Relatively inexpensive and have more choices as to what brand insert to use.

Cons-
Requires fabrication and Mookeh doesn’t sell the modified shells  anymore.
Still have to replace top mounts and probably bellows

Note:  I have seen it referenced in a few threads of using MR2 rears in the front of Starquests?  Threads explaining this process are gone or missing pics.
TEP still offers the modification service on their website, any members offering to fab for a fair price?

From D2 Racing Website...

http://www.d2racing.com/support/faq/

All of our coilovers are rebuildable and serviceable in the United States. Although we are happy to receive your coilovers for inspection and rebuild, we do offer replacement units which can be shipped directly to you. Most customers choose this option as it saves on downtime and helps them get their car back on the road quicker. If you believe your coilover needs to be serviced, send us an email (info@d2racing.com) and a representative will take care of you.

I have posted numerous times when the topic popped up. Do I need to write a full write up on the MR2 conversion for this site? Im sure my responses can be found with details on the requirements.

I can do a write up the only issue is that I have no pictures. I had them all on my old phone which I no longer posess. I can take my struts off the car now and take pictures that way but it will be a few weeks for me to get to it.

I will make a write up tomorrow and just add pictures later.

you can also put inserts in a pair of rear shp housings , but whatever you do , replace the strut mounts preferably with camber plates because every " new " mount i've used buldges anyway
