1990 Mitsubishi Starion

notice the lack of stereo contols mounted on the steering wheel.... neeto...i thought these cars had different motors in them in europe? or was it just the injection?

They came with both engines, the g63b (2.0) and the g54b (2.6). Widebodies could come with a 2.0 or a 2.6.

I could be wrong but I think the later years only had the 2.6l in the UK. The 2.6 met the stricter emissions standards and ran unleaded. The new standards were basically what the EPA required in the US market. Since the Starion was on it's way out they just sent the 2.6 to the UK rather than clean up the 2.0.

 

I could be wrong though. If anyone has more info please chime in.

All I know is they have 88/89 widebodies with an option of 2.0 or 2.6. Not sure on the 90's.

Indeed this is correct , from 88 on the Mitsubishi ad peeps in the U.K. hailed the 2.6 cars as the new "green" Starion.

The gauges, when flipped, look quite proper. Speedo pegged, Redlined, but its running cool, nice and high oil psi, running out of gas.....and the the voltage is a little low cause hes running the air conditioner. NOTHING wrong with this picture at all, haha :)
