Hello everyone
I have on 87 conquest  engine runs good  i fixed all the leaks alum radiator  new injectors plugs and clips new valve seals and jet valves eliminated    I re built the turbo w tdo5h 9 blade and small 16 g and ported     88 ecu upgraded  new knock box coil and wires along w plugs rotor and cap timing is set at 10btdc

so here is my question?         if i am getting up on the highway and punch it  car boosts nice and strong to around 10 psi  as soon as i go past 10 psi  engine starts to over speed or something  like the clutch doesnt hold    boost will go up still  but no go untill i drop boost to around 7 to  10 psi   i am re building my extra engine w forged pistons and the works      kinda wanna resolve this issue before my new engine goes in hope soon  any input is apreciated and thank you     i have a manual boost controler and blow off valve on the car w no leaks on any hoses  boost goes up but rpms kinda stay behind after 10 psi 4th and 5th gear only like it overboosts and i dont need that to happen once to many times lol

Sounds like the clutch is slipping to me.
I would look into either finding a 240mm flywheel or look into the 225mm to 240mm conversion. Pretty sure that is a possibility using the 87 flywheel.

Yup clutch seems to be slipping. From what you describe.

A 240 mm flywheel and clutch and you should be good to go.

Might want to check this out. Been a while since this has come out but might be worth a call.

thank you guys for your reply  will look into 240 upgrade  before my engine goes in the car     so far have no luck finding new or used 240mm flywheel     I could machine it myself to 20lbs  re grind the surface and have someone o balance it         will go w 15 lb forged stage 2 clutch if i dont find one before motor is in the car  will look what is involved in using 225 flywheel w 240 mm clutch most likely new holes have to be drilled to larger bolt circle to fit the 240 plate    how about the friction surface size on 225  would it be same diameter as 240 flywheel? or needs machined larger?   thank you again for your time and help     sure i will be posting more questions in the near future

Probably a worn out /weak pressure plate. I boost 20 psi on a big turbo and it holds fine on a 225 mm clutch setup.
My clutch isn't anything special.

Replacement clutch was put in less than 1500 miles on it     i didn't break it in correctly  I think   was probably to rough on it to see what the car can do  lol    after I got it running due to rust in my fuel tank from sitting for a long time     Just got all the parts for my rebuild from engine machine service  what on awesome job Randy did on this motor!           and will lighten the 225 mm and balance w new clutch kit  Any particularly affordable clutch brand that you could recommend?   also i posted on starquest wanted list that i am looking for stock 240 mm would like to machine one of them down some  so far no luck on finding one     and not to crazy about the weight on competition flywheel 15 lbs just sounds to light to me    maybe i am wrong?   wish I could take someones car w comp flywheel for a spin to see what it feels like    before i put bunch of cash in it and not like it

The better solution is to get a scott87star megasquirt and run the stock setup.
Much better tuning and stability of the tune. He can make it work with the stock
Ecu harness with little modification.

Not sure I understand your fuel pressure regulator question. most any aftermarket FPR will do the trick. Just make sure you get one that is boost compensating. Generally a 1:1 ratio is what you are looking for, although I know a few guys run a non-linear unit. Just run a line off the magna to the FPR, Then plumb the outlet of the FPR to the stock return line. Vacuum line to a dedicated port on the magna. Done ;)

As far as turbo a good option for daily street is the
TD06 18G
TD06 20G

Don't go td05 or 05h.
The 06 is perfect for our cars.

Even the 06SL2 is good for our engine.
