Finally made it out to the track yesterday, Island Dragway in Great Meadows, NJ. Drove an hour down, made 5 passes, and drove an hour home with no issues.

Passes went as follows:

1 - 15.090 @ 95.02

2 - 14.715 @ 95.25

3 - 14.488 @ 97.71

4 - 14.581 @ 97.91

5 - 14.569 @ 97.59

Having never been to the strip before, I'm sure there's room for improvement. It was also pretty hot, ~90*, so I'm sure that played a role. The first run I rolled out to get a feel for things, second I launched at ~2k, the remaining runs were launched from ~3k.

Couple of my buddies. The DelSol was good for a 13.3 @ 107, 8:1 CR-V block, type-r head, Evo8 turbo @ 13psi. The Evo was having problems getting out of the hole, managed a 12.2 @ 130 (I think), it's gone low 11's earlier this year.

Very nice for a first timer Dale! If you could cut your reaction time in half that would save you .2 right there and put you at 14.2. Do you know what the HP rating is on your car? That would give you a better indicator of whether or not your MPH and time slips line up.

I've been to Island a few times. Not my favorite track, but I understand they have a pretty sweet test and tune thing going on there on Friday nights. I've never been to it, but I here it's cool. I hoping to head to NuMidia on the 25th to run the Eclipse. I'm still trying to work out a few kinks since I removed my balance shafts.

I can't imagine the car making any more than 225whp. The motor is all factory stock. The only real power upgrades I have are the GM MAF and MAFT, 3" exhaust, intercooler pipes, and 12A @ ~17psi.

Chris, I was under the assumption that R/T didn't effect E/T? I know if you leave sooner, you'll finish first, but the clock doesn't start until you pass through the second staging light, no?

Being it was my first time, I know there's plenty of room for improvement. I'd like to work on a better 60' and get into the 13's with my current setup. Not sure if that's possible, I think having lower ambients would help a ton, and probably a better suspension setup. They told me the car bounced a lot on the launch and during shifts.

You are correct, I don't know what I was thinking. I know better. For what it's worth, as far as R/T goes, I always take off during the transition from the 1st to the 2nd yellow and I seem to nail it pretty good.

Back in 2006/2007 I ran 13.5 on a 12a @18psi with a MAFT and 3inch exhaust. You've got room to improve bud! It wasn't super hot outside when I ran though so thatll help your time.

Coke ... I didn't think a stock fuel setup could support 18psi?? Of course, this is coming from a guy whose owned a Quest for going on 3 years and has only had one drivable for 4 months of that time ... lol.

Temp definitely effects ALOT. Last year at the track there was an oil spill that needed to be cleaned right before I ran. I shut the car and sat for 15-20 minutes. The run that followed ended up being the best of the day b/c the engine had cooled off.

First of all, psi doesn't really have much to do with it at all. It's really about cfm. The stock fuel system can support the 12a at its maximum output without a sweat. If your fuel pump is healthy, a 16g in its sweet spot would be fine on a stock fuel system, but you're nearing the limit, definitely.

guys i have seen a stock replacement pump and trilogy injectors take 15-18 lbs from a 20g like a champ recently. Good runs for first time though man. i can look at your times and tell you can improve alot with just driving. I think your launching low as well. which is prob causing your to bog then take off which will kill your overall time. a low 60fter is key
