  1. Shelby has a few fingerprints under the hood of your car and in/on the differential as well. He still looks out for this old girl just like he has always looked out for me. pen
  2. The JVE kit is simple as pie. Unscrew the jet valves and insert the plug. It's been quite a few years now so I can't remember if there is enough room under those jet valve arms coming off of the rock to insert them w/ the rocker shaft on or not. Years ago I owned a piece of junk (just rotted out terrible) dodge ram 50 w/ the 2.6 in it. I had a miss which started in that truck and gave me problems for months intermittently. At the same time I put a different carb on the truck so I kept blaming that. Anyway, long story short, I ended up pulling the valve cover to find the same thing you had. When I pulled that jet valve I found it was missing the valve head which must have broken off and been sent out the exhaust. Since this truck was a beater, I simply filled the jet valve w/ jb weld and reinstalled. I then took a chisel and simply knocked off the arms of the rocker for all the other jet valves so that they were left in the closed position w/ nothing to actuate them. Now, that was a dirt cheap fix for a kid in college on a truck that was a few months from the junk yard, but the story is still pertinent. Didn't I give you my maintenance log w/ the car? The vac advance was replaced less than a few thousand miles before you bought the car. Injector clips as well and they are soldered and shrink wrapped. The pcv valve was also replaced. If you ever have a question you can still drop me a line by sending a pm or an email. How many miles are on the old girl now anyway? best of luck. sorry to hear of the troubles but glad to see overall that the skinny bodied technica has been good for you in general. pen
  3. Awful sorry to see the loss here coke. Glad to hear everyone is ok and you are still in good spirits. Crap happens. Good luck. pen
  4. The manual will be opened up to someone if Wayne contacts me and tells me that " "So and So" has agreed to help me setup a new site for the SOS and I would like them to be able to access the SOS so that they can move it" Once that happens, the admins over on i-x can talk details about how to make it happen to that individual directly. I will echo the response of so many about this whole situation being an absolute shame. I NEVER wanted it to come to this, but in the end, there was no avoiding it since Wayne got to the point where he wouldn't even recognize the problems we were having, let alone work on fixing them. It went to the point where the goals of Wayne simply did not align with the goals of i-x.net. Because of that, we parted ways and what you see is the best way we could figure to do it. I really hope someone contacts Wayne and they can get a plan together to host the SOS somewhere else. If you are interested you can contact Wayne at waynescoolworld@netzero.net and have him contact me once you guys have found a solution that we can work with. pen
  5. I've had this happen when the float, well, becomes a sinker. It's been a while so I can't remember whether I could get it to go out by simply unplugging it, or if I had to include a jumper after unplugging it. There is no indicator for the back one. pen
  6. Just to double check you are in the right spot. The test connector is a black / white wire to a single connector over by the air cleaner. This will bypass the ECI relay. pen
  7. If you are powering the correct jumper w/ 12v +, then that fuel pump should run no matter what. Reasons it is not running. 1. Faulty wiring at the fuel pump 2. Fuel pump s*** the bed. I'd say pull off the inspection cover, power the jumper wire, then tap the fuel pump to see if it will start running. If that starts it, then most likely the fuel pump is having an issue If it doesn't start then it could still be the fuel pump or it could be the wiring has failed near the pump. pen
  8. The fuel pump will only operate when you are either cranking the ignition (in the START not RUN position) or when the car is actually running. Perhaps consider the fuel pump / ECU relay as being faulty. Especially since you mentioned you got the ECU wet earlier this year. Additionally, that ignitor is no spring chicken. I'd consider updating it to an 88/89 version (gold box and bigger versus your black plastic one) as well. If it's not giving you fits now, it's just a matter of time. the 88/89's are proven tougher. Good luck pen
  9. Professor can still RECEIVE PM's he just won't be able to respond using i-x.net's PMing He'll have to email you or call you back. But if you send him a PM he'll get it. pen
  10. That's good to hear that you are enjoying the old girl. pen
  11. Overspray is from a replaced driver's side front fender and they did a little work along that door as well if I remember. Car hit a deer from what the previous owner told me 10 years ago! pen
  12. Sure glad I got to spend some time in that truck when I did. Glad to hear it is going to Jimmy. Your family is lucky that you do so much for them. Glad that nobody got physically hurt, I know you are hurting tho. pen
  13. It just so happens that you might want to read the FAQ on this topic I wrote several years ago. http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.p...1&hl=penick pen
