Do you have the blower motor/housing, heater core, that sensor with the vacuum connection from the A/C condenser, or ducting for the air vents? -
87 Non-SHP seats for Sale in Metro Detroit
freetoskate124 replied to freetoskate124's topic in Parts for sale
The Sport Handling Package had different bucket seats. They have the square-doughnut head rests and the wings on the sides. If you look at the pictures in the link, you'll see that those seats are just the regular bucket seats from the 87 model year. I could be mistaken about whether SHP was an option then, but the important point is these seats are pretty damn clean for being that old. Also, I will include a SHP bucket seat (driver's side) that has the rails and seat-belt clip intact but is torn up pretty badly for $150 OBO -
I have the front seats out of a 87 Starion I bought a couple years ago. They are in pretty decent condition, but the driver's seat is missing the rails and seat belt clip (it was like that when I bought the car). Besides that and a few minor scrapes and creases, these seats are still in good shape despite their age. Here's the link to the CL ad for pics: http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/pts/3500702267.html Thanks!

Electrical Issue (power only to interior lights)
freetoskate124 replied to freetoskate124's topic in Virtual Mechanic
I did some more digging around and followed that fried wire to where it gets spliced onto what I think is the ECI ground. The wire past that looks ok, so could I replace the part of the wire that ends with the eyelet? I assume I should still check everything connected to that ground? -

nevermind I found the list of stuff that grounds from that wire (ground #9). GROUND #9 (Body Ground, also tied in with ground 11, apron bolt) Grounds: Electronic Spark Control Igniter: ECI Control Unit: pin # 1 SHEILDED GROUND & # 53 DIRECT GROUND to the ECI Ignition Coil Ground Side (-) SHEILDED GROUND Dist. signal generator: SHIELDED GROUND Detonation sensor: SHIELDED GROUND (found on starquest.i-x.net) Can anyone recommend a good tutorial on using a multi meter to check stuff like this please? I really have no idea how to use mine for anything other than checking continuity! -
Electrical Issue (power only to interior lights)

UPDATE! After digging around a little I found that the ground behind the instrument cluster wasn't getting good ground. I cleaned it up and reconnected it and then put everything back together. I turned the key on and the warning lights on the cluster lit up. However I soon smelled something burning and found that I fried a wire. I mistakenly labeled the wire (which I think is a ground) positive and hooked it up to the ignition coil. What does that wire ground if I did fry it? Thanks! -

Okay, I know this is a dumb question (don't flame please!) but how would I meter a circuit like that? I can't say I have a lot of experience using a multi meter. -
