  1. Hey Ian... That would be me. Sorry I couldnt make it happen. Just a little more than I want and CAN bite off at this time. I will be around. Michael
  2. Sorry havent checked in here in a min, been a little busy with work and such. Scotty gonna PM you with my number and see whats up about caravan. Not sure who else is coming from NorCal3S yet, but either way I will join up for caravan on Thursday night. Michael
  3. updates? anything cool to add? Still planning on a Thursday night time drive right?
  4. any updates? Even though I am going this same route I still love this project...even if it IS an ATX lol.
  5. Are we thinking of Friday night drive or thursday night drive? The few on the 3S forums were thinking Thursday and chilling for a day before the meet. If you guys want I am sure we can arrange a place to crash. I highly doubt there will be 10 people so getting a place to stay should be simple enough if you dont want to drop major coin on a hotel room. I personally am game for a Thursday trip as thats my long weekend off work, but understand there is more than just me going and a caravan sounds fun. Let me know what ya think. I would imagine it would make the meet a lot better if we went to it rested. And if we arrive Friday morning after a thursday night drive, we can hook up with my SoCal friends and caravan to meet together with them. We did that a few years ago and it was farging awesome rolling in 40 cars deep lol. Evos still took over, but we repped well in our Stealths/3000s lol. Anyways, let me know what you think. Michael
  6. So just to confirm something else about your setup I went and talked to a shop friend of mine about those return lines. There was no mention of my question about the setup and I did want to say that after talking to the shop out here, you might want to re-route those return lines to not have that dead leg in the flow. It is a gravity fed setup and could back out oil. Its a thought, it might be a small chance, might be a certainty, but either way I wouldnt want to risk my turbos over a relatively easy fix. Aside from that, looks incredible. On a side note from my ideas I did decide to not go forward with this on a Starion. Instead this build inspired me to go a little different route. We (I say WE because this isnt going to be me alone), are going to build a RWD setup with the MIVEC motor twin turbo charged on another Stealth. I am 6'3" and 280 lbs and to be honest I didnt fit all that great in my last Starion. So decided to stick with the Stealth platform. Planning on running a 300ZX Z32 5Spd MT mated to a Stealth 6 spd rear end. Project will get under way here pretty soon. Sourcing parts right now. Already bought the chassis. I was talking myself into another Starion mainly because I farging love these things lol. I dont fit for s*** in it, but I love looking at them lol. Best looking car of the 80s! Anyways, I will be around. Best of luck Turbo! Hope to see some of you at MOD! lol Michael
  7. I am discussing with a few of the confirmed 3S guys about where we want to leave from and when. I will get back to you guys so we can set up a good time. I am thinking a Friday night drive is the way to go. Get us there early, less wear on the cars in the more mild temps, less cops...no LA traffic. I am personally used to driving over night so I am ok with it...but wanted to see what you all thought. I am flexible.
  8. Hey Scotty there will be a caravan for the stealth/3000GT owners if you want to join us. That goes for everyone. I live in Richmond so it's a easy hook up for you out in concord.
  9. Can you please elaborate? I am not questioning the validity as much as just curious as to why it wouldnt fit. I dont doubt it grenading with that much power, but my goals are much more modest. Trying to determine what route I am going to have to go when/if I undertake this same project. I am also only looking at the 350-400WHP range...
  10. Ok so I have to ask, but why not just run the Starion transmission? Is there a reputation for failure at the HP numbers you are trying to reach? Would just seem simpler to adapt to that and go. One other thing that was of concern from your pics. Seems small and you may have thought about it and figured it to be fine, but the oil return lines for the turbos are with those steel braided lines. It appears the line hangs lower than the return port. I would just be concerned about stalling of the oil flow. Is that something you have thought of and are OK with? Just a thought. Looks awesome man! Michael
  11. Yeah I am sure we have a few sets of heads around here. Both DOHC NA and TT. They are pretty similar overall. The TT has slightly larger ports, but they are same outside of that...and the NA cams are a little better. Anyways, yeah I am sure between myself and the other people of our forums there are several sets of heads out there. What kind of condition are you looking for? Anything specific? Where are you located?
  12. Ok so this might be a random post but I figured I would chime in as I am probably going to be picking up a Starion again here in the next week. I just sold my 96 Stealth and I still have my DD fwd 3000GT TT conversion. Anyways, now to the relevance of my post. I was planning the very same thing with my Starion. I have 3 complete engines already, one of them being a built 4 bolt with forged internals and PnP heads. I wasn't planning to run turbos anywhere near as large as yours lol, but I do have a similar intake manifold design going on my car. I am very impressed with your setup man. Cant wait to see the development. My questions are si liar to what has been asked, I just missed any answers thus far. What transmission are you running? Is it the Starion tranny w/ adapter plate? Very interested in that portion. Mine will be a little more modest with the turbo sizes, planning on some 16t's or something of that sizing. Anyways, long post over. Very nice setup man. In for more pics!
