Driver's side door panel.  I got these panels off of an '88 with automatic seatbelts.  This was perfect since I'm switching to Corbeau seats with 4-point harnesses, and the '88 panels don't have the hole for the manual seatbelts, which are being removed entirely.Posted ImagePosted Image  Door handle surround still needs to be touched up and installed.

Glad to see some of that maroon interior gone. But I would love to see a two tone with black seats and some maroon panels someday like some of the new, modern interiors:

Another modification is for the triangular panel to the rear of the door.  The one from my '86 manual seatbelt setup hangs on a dual hanger (you can see the two holes where that hanger was mounted).  The one from the '88 screws into two brackets which I don't have.  Going to see what I can fabricate to get it to work...maybe create a flange that mounts to the holes that the the hanger used to mount on.

yeah that looks pretty cool.  i've already been talking with an auto upholstery guy locally about doing some work similar to that.

Althought the maroon isn't too bad, I agree that the black is much nicer.  BTW, only one E-Brake cable?

LOL!  When I bought it, it had no e-brake cables at all!  I ran the one as a temp fix, but will be running another as I go along.

Got the passenger side done today.  Also managed to address the triangle piece mounting issue by creating my own flanges and threading them so the triangles are secured.  Not bad if I say so myself.

Got the smoked fog light covers from Tim at MotoCam360 today...they look pretty sharp I think.  Still have to install the LED fog lights I got from 87quest_stv.   I'll get pics of that install up as soon as possible.

Thank you sir!  They almost look too good...like when you see a guy put $2000.00 worth of rims on a $500.00 car!  Not to worry, the body work and paint job are coming in the near future.  Gotta finish the interior first.

Ok some interior work done.  Got all my new upholstery in this week and got started installing in the back of the car.  Looks pretty good I think.  Can't do the front upholstery until I install my new seats which also came in this week.  Going to have to fabricate some adapter rails so that the new seat rails will bolt to the stock floor mounts.  Anyway here's some pics of the rear upholstery going in.

thank you sir...always nice to hear positive feedback.  and i'll keep posting pics with every addition.

yes it's been a lot of work but it will certainly be worth it in the long run.  as soon as i get things a bit more organized, i'll start cleaning parts and posting them for sale...i'm sure there's people who can use them.

I got my front and rear strut brace sets from ESIrType? the other day...very nice pieces of hardware.  Went ahead and installed the rears since the upholstery was already in and ready to go.  Looks pretty good!
