I've often wondered what it would take to make one for my Trans Am...and now that I have a Quest...possibly one for it. Probably a clear window, not the entire hood. What would be the best material? Burton Posted August 28, 2013 Report Share Posted August 28, 2013 I wouldn't use plexiglass, not just because of the heat issue, but it is also ealily cracked and chipped. I'dgo Lexan over plexi, but even Lexan I'm not sure if it would hold up to the heat. I don't think it would flat out melt, but I wonder if the heat might distort it a little bit and make it wavy, or possibly cause a discoloration.
