So i've started my project. I'm doing a partial restore. The car itself is super clean, and great base to begin with. No rust, some light oxidation on some of the panels from scratches or chips. But nothing that has gone into the metal. The biggest thing about the car are the dents. So I'm addressing those first. Then I'll prep the rest of the body for paint. I've started on the passenger front fender as it was the worst. I've straightened out some dents and am prepping for filler.

I am planning on doing a swap, so everything under the hood will come out when I sell the engine, Then get scuffed or sandblasted and repainted. Here's the start

So I've gotten a little more work done. Now that my engine is sold I've started disconnecting it from the car to remove. So I should be able to move a lot quicker now.

working on getting all the dents and imperfections out.

I got the engine and tranny out this weekend. Now starts the cleanup of the engine bay. And to make room for the swap.

A syou can see I have very limited garage space. So slowly she goes. But she's going.

After the rains topped I pushed the car back out to start the first round of sand blasting. Still have the pull the steering box off and finish sandblasting this weekend.

A little update. Haven't worked on the engine bay much. Been working on my headlight conversion. I had this game back on the PS2 in early 2000. Tokyo racer extreme ( I think that was the name) and they had a conquest as one of the cars you could buy and modify. At one point you could modify the headlights to a dual beam fixed light with a clear lens that was the size of the original lid. I sorta liked that but I really liked the style of have the lid still there with the dual beam. I saw that convette had done a light mod and That was the exact style I was looking for. So I made my own.

Now I still wanted to use the battery in the stock location if possible even with my swap happening. And didn't want to take up engine bay space with headlights so I have been fabricating something that should work. This isnt finished just mocked up, Here ya go.

Should be plenty of space between the lexan and the light ., Lexan has 300+ deg heat resistance

Just need a couple access holes drilled through the support to change bulbs and that's it. Will also be able to adjust the light u/d l/r without needing to remove the assembly

turn on the headlights

I'll get to that. Right now I have my engine bay harness out of the way. So cant hook anything up to it yet. Once I get the lights finished and ready to hook up I'll mess with the wiring harness. I'll also have to slightly modify the light wiring to actuate the separate high beams now.
