Soopaquest87
Ok as title says i have been reading up on project zero g about a 4g63 swap into a quest i might be getting in a month or less. Now what has me confused is the wiring. It doesnt state what ecu to use i may just be having a brain fart when i read it or just over looking it. Do I use the DSM ecu with DSMlink (i have a couple laying around) or use an AEM or what? I know how to do the wiring merger on the B-38 and all but just confused on the ECU. Someone elighten me on this thing so i know if its worth it or not lol. Any advise on the swap is needed to like how to do motor mounts and the stuff to mount engine in i know how to do the tranny stuff and all also. Soopaquest87
well thats a relief to know. Cause i know AEM ecu are like $900 or so last i saw. Now i have to get the car and get it situated and see how bad it is and if its even worth it to do the swap in. Big John
my swap is the narrow block 4g63 in my quest. there is a lot of ways you can go some more costly than others. just a few things i will tell you 1. motor mounts see bill hincher he makes them for us2. bell housing when you decide what tranny you want to use see bill hincher he makes them also3.tranny mount see bill hincher he makes them4. i am using a 1g dsm eprom ecu that has had a socket installed using a ostrich 2.0 emulator and jackal software5. there is not a lot of exhaust manifold choices out there. you can use the stock one or forced performance has a cast 2g for 275.00 (which i have) or a top mount which is about 1300.006. the size of your turbo is another thing to consider. i run a holset hx35 and i had to do a little work on the inner fender for clearance as well as the oil drain line.hope this helps some.john
Technology
I've heard DSM link is really easy to use. If you have two of them sitting around, just use that.
19cturbo
If you use the stock harness, like john did you can PM me for info, i should be able to help out a little, i wired johns car. I may have to go back and look at his but it is pretty straight forward, the only thing you need from the starion is the B38 plug really.
