  1. I understand the gains in lift etc... but what are the gains where the rubber meets the road?
  2. I have had the worst luck with ISC's........... Mine was throwing a code 6, the ISC didnt "zip" it sorta went "dut... dut... dut... dut... dut...." I bought one from Ebay that failed completely. My brother sent me one he found that didnt work either. I am going to pull them apart and see what i can see. So..... I Put the original one back in and though it isnt right either.... after warming up the car idles fine... as long as i dont sit for more than 5 minutes ..... then it starts surgeing progressivly worse and will eventually stall....... But fires right up again and the cycle starts over. Oh and it throws a 1 & 6 until it is warmed up then just a 1 while idling... While cruising i get no codes.
  3. I picked up a Flax Euro antenna and modified the rear washer nozzle opening a little and relocated the antenna there.... Looks pretty sharp to me. Â Have a pic somewhere..... http://www.eautoworks.com/productImages/spw_Sh_ant.jpg never cared for the rear wiper or antenna setup anyway. I was going to wait til i was ready for paint and have a body shop shave the hump and fill the antenna and rear wiper area ........ but would like to give it a shot if anyone has GOOD instruction from an actual mod
  4. You might find this amusing... maybe not... either way, heres my DUH of the day.... I got the pump installed and tested then hit the road... I noticed a loud vibration that occured intermittantly, either in the throttle or off it... ??? I thought I had a bad pump because it sounded like a cavitation noise... so i dropped the tank and tested the pump...........no noise. :-/ Put it all back together again ... but left the trunk dismantled and hit the road .... no noise ;D went home put covers on the fuel level and pump access and a few hours later the kids and I hit the road... and dang-it there was the vibration again :'( It turned out to be the cover for the Fuel level connection :... the sticky stuff was dry and it stuck a little when i placed it but vibrated like he!! once driving So.... DUH!!!! : :
  5. the fuel pump connector to the pump was broken and has been replaced... now have full battery voltage to pump. Installed and cruising thanks Again!!
  6. Hey Professor, Couldnt care less how good or bad you type... just keep giving the info!!!! I checked the voltage at the pump... and at the connector for the pump. I will spend some time today looking over the wiring diagrams and check my relay and connections and test voltage at each one. Conical filter was an ok fit in the other stock pump but of course is eliminated with the Walbro. I am copying your filter design so....once again... thanks for the great info!! Bill
  7. Howdy! I am replacing my stock replacement pump with the Walbro because the Advanceauto pump was real erratic in its operation... not only was it noisy then quiet but it would push fuel at different rates into my gas can... so I got my money back. ;D Conical filter was in place and clean, along with new in tank and high pressure Before returning it I checked voltage to the pump and it was 9.6v or so ...what should the voltage be? On the wire to fuel pump connector there is a black box inline before the pump... what is it? what does it do? Do I need it? Many Much Thanks Bill
  8. FYI Just wanted to let folks know that I picked up the Fuel pump # GSL-392 & Install kit # 400-952 for $127.93 w/FREE shipping. For a promotional code enter: starquest later Bill
  9. Picked up a spare hood and both 280zx vents and would appreciate the measurements for the most effective placement. Â Slightly ahead of the turbo.. Right on top.... Â Advantages / Disadvantages of INtake side vent? Â do I/should I sheild the electronics on the DS fender well with the DS vent? thanks
  10. on a different note..... I see folks writing bump a alot what the heck does it mean?
  11. Christmas + 2 Kids + Wife = stock replacement pump besides got a bit of a deal on it
  12. Oh yeah Great Info Professor ... the order and tips made all the difference... I tested the old pump alongside the new and there was quite a difference odds are it was going to die pretty soon .... so I'm grateful for your help.
  13. Just to chime in on this ........on my 1987 quest its a 19mm not a 17mm other than that these are excellent!!!
