Mine, with 53k, running awesome with immaculate interior and bodywork didn't bring the 5k I am asking... I dont get it.

People are funny... Couldnt even knock the snow off that collectors item in an effort to sell it.

I was just questioning the seller's use of the term "numbers matching".....These cars are not old enough to matter, nor does that make a difference when trying to sell....

Heck, most people want to swap the engine anyway....No one is concerned if it has the original G54B....

These cars do not have collector status yet....

then make an offer to him for the louvers...  or ignore it if you guys aren't interested.  just generating conversation about cars that are for sale out there.  I'm currently Conquest-less so they are all kind of interesting to me.  didn't realize this community had gotten so snarky.

Dont take the conversation the wrong way...People seemed to be just joking...Thanks for posting cars for sale...Keeps things interesting..We always like to see what is available out there...

The louvers are probably worth $500-$800 depending on how bad someone wants those sides...The sides are the rare ones...Not the rear louver...

Hard to tell cond in those pics but if it starts and drives l dont see why it wouldn't be worth couple of grand after nicely cleaned up. If l was selling it that car would be washed polished and explained in detail. In those kind of pics it's only worth scrap money  No one wants pile of s... out of weeds  w all the unknowns  not for $2500  anyway.lol
I bought 88 a while back for $250  car sat for 10 years +  pretty much for parts. Turned out it needed throttle body gaskets and seals and bunch of hoses  been driving it every day since. I was offered $4000 for the car this summer but can't part w it as it drives like a dream. If you can get it under $1000 it's worth it even if you part it out.

i'm probably passing on it personally.  too far of a drive to look at it and if he has no problem showing pictures of it on the grass/snow, who knows what he's not going to tell you about it.  It's just a bit heartbreaking seeing a low mileage car neglected since i don't even have one, but it would probably need a rebuild anyway.  guess i figured someone else might be more adventurous than I am.  maybe i'll contact him if i get bored just to see what more he says about the condition.

So what would you think an 89 in top condition with less than 100k miles would be worth?

Vague...still alot of factors left to determine value...

But 3k-5k seems to be the going rate for clean examples

Nobody is getting snarky toward you. The snark is toward the seller. The point is if you want to get top dollar for a collector status type car put some effort into the ad. Wipe off the snow, give it a wash, and take some motor and interior shots. I'm actually half interested b/c it is low miles and it has the louvers. Could be potential, but it's hard to tell from the sellers ad. Thats all. Some people just don't know how to sell a car.

No, I don't have one for sale. Im looking to buy one. When I say top condition , I mean showroom quality, 9+ out of 10.
