which year car? -
Just a quick update. I received the leather boot today. The boot itself is not the factory one so I will have to work on mocking up one that is correct (this one is stapled into the inside of the ring instead of wrapping around it like stock. I'm also sending the dimensions off so I can get the cost on building them. Moving ahead!

I'm looking to create replacement leather shift boots with new retention rings. I'll be basing the retention rings off a stock 88/89 setup and will also be using the leather pattern from the same boot. This will differ from the only real option out there as it will use the correct mounting ring instead of the accordion ring which sits below the console (the plastic ring from the leather snaps through top and bottom). What I'm looking for to figure out my starting point: Would you be interested at a cost of approximately $40-50 (based on initial workup of parts & labor, may increase or decrease depending on factors such as how many I get and actual manufacturing) What kind of options (if any) would you like to see? I'm already thinking about alternate panel coloring (blue/black, red/black, whatever floats your boat) and/or colored stitching since those seem to be a given for most people. Prefer stock height boots or option for short shifter boot as well? Again, this is just a feeler for the moment. The retention ring is going to be the costly part to make (can't buy these anymore), so I need to get an idea before I manufacture them. I will be working with the manufacturer to get solid numbers on the reverse engineering and productions costs in a week or two, then I'll have a better idea of just what this will cost. Thoughts?

Acronis free from WD is one of the best things ever. Have used it countless times over dozens of drives with no hassle.

Does the leather shift boot use the same retention ring as the accordion? Unfortunately I lost my leather one boot in it's entirety quite a while ago, and don't remember if it used the metal ring or a plastic one. The accordion is a little too 80's for me, so if I can get the retention ring I'll just make my own leather replacement.

Couple Quick Maf Translator Questions
Jeremy_C replied to Turbo Cary's topic in Advanced Virtual Mechanic
I unfortunately don't know much about the original maf-t, but you can set IAT temps in the T-Pro based on the average in your area. I have one on my 3000GT running MAP (but switching back to MAF since I can't get the car to play nice after the move from Detroit to Tucson). Have you checked here? http://www.fullthrottletech.com/ -

What year car is the engine from? Is the engine still attached to trans? I could make the trip to pick everything up, but don't have the ability to take them as one unit. Need separated. -
I'll gladly take the stock flywheel to 85756. Maybe the rad + fans as well. Give me a final price on both and I'll go from there. Odd question: Are you parting out? I'm in need of engine bits (like a lot of them). Also a few interior pieces. PM me and I can give more details

1990 Mitsubishi Starion RHD
Jeremy_C replied to PSiTSi's topic in eBay/ Craiglist notices and alerts
It takes maybe a half hour of driving RHD before you don't have any issues. About the hardest part is actually staying in your lane. Because you're used to being on the left side of the lane, you'll subconsciously move the car into that position, which for me was putting me right in the middle of the road or straddling two lanes. After getting used to that, knowing that you can't see oncoming traffic in a left turn lane is the next biggest thing, and no going through your favorite drive thru any longer unless you have a passenger. -
88 conquest part out!! Houston Texas

Though a few asked earlier, it was never mentioned if the parts were taken: ECU Flywheel The display for the HVAC? If interior is black: the plug that goes over the bolt in the bottom of the inside door pull. Fog Lights (rally just need glass, but if the assemblies are in good condition...) Any engine components left? -
By chance, would you have the ECU still? Flywheel? Really oddball one: The cap that goes over the screw in the door pull in the interior, assuming black interior/

Which would be a pretty sick 3000GT since they are generally capable of 13's stock (best stock run anyone knows of is 13.0 '96 Stealth TT). My 3000GT SL (FWD, non-turbo stock) runs high 13's with about $2k in mods trapping 105mph. I don't see that being possible with my 'Quest. I love it, but I understand it's limitations.
