TopDawg_43
I have stripped just about all the cam tower bolts holes, in my head. I was okay just heli-coiling and being done with it. But on the last one, the hole stripped when I was tapping it :eek1bluegreen: . So, I had to pull the head and send it off. At the machine shop, the dude said he'd make some kind of stud and put in there. And that got me to thinking, what if I just used studs instead of bolts. This would help save the threads in the head. Has anybody else used studs? Are there any disadvantages of using studs? I'd image it would be like using head studs over bolts. Does anybody know how long those bolts are? Indiana
nuts and washers coming off would be a bad thing flying around up there
Whiplash
I have stripped a few myself. Maybe a little blue locktite on the stud to keep the nuts from coming lose.
