My 86 when I bought it from the original owner had the TPS installed in reverse, the lever to the TPS was in a nutral position and the throttle body would not deflect or move it when opened or closed. There was no slack in the throttle cable in fact the idle was maintained by the throttle cable tension. Of course I did not realize this at the time but it would only work with a duel injector setup and not a primary secondary ECU I would have to wait until the engine was operating temperature but the fuel was unlimited and relied on MAP sensor and O2 sensor inputs.
