  1. Jetta TDI FTW, they look better and get better gas mileage, plus they are going to be built amazing. Or if for some reason you want just plain ole petrol, you could buy an older 3 series BMW and tap your local BMWCCA, which if it's anything at all like mine here in the STL will be able to help you fix anything at all that makes it not nice or breaks. If you can fix it yourself they really aren't expensive at all, plus they are really easy to work on. In your case I would still get the TDI though. P.S. No M's though if you find yourself looking at BMW's, that's a whole different ballgame.
  2. A few things in this thread caught my eye, I used to deliver in mine when I had it way back in 95/96. I had about 20 cars in the 15 years I delivered for Pizza Hut, just ended that stint a couple of weeks ago. Some of them were TOTAL junk, all of them died much faster than usual, and I would have done it exactly the same even had I known. People used to tell me to get a Geo Metro, I would tell them "Do you know how much time I spend in my car, I want a fun nice one." Now that I am not delivering I spend like 20 min a day in my car and think shoot, I could buy a Geo Metro. Why people buy nice cars who rack up no miles is beyond my ability to reason, your never in it enough to need one. Tips are indeed necessary, they are the only reason anyone would do that to their car, to truly think otherwise is amazing to me. People who stiff the delivery driver are taking huge advantage of the ones who do, they did not have to leave their house, if there were no tips, they would have to. Do you have any idea how many people yelled at me while doing the speed limit or less? I would laugh at someone who tried to fire me for a "customer complaint" even if it were a hundred of them. Just for the record, I had 22,436 accident free hours accumulated at Pizza Hut in those 15 years, so I was not unsafe by any account.
  3. Is this the Starquestrims your talking about? http://web.archive.org/web/20050828185316/...rquestrims.com/
  4. Never meant to, the Starquest thought I keep in my head is a direct result of this community. I just remember back in the day being entangled in that site after finding it for hours at a time. That's how I ultimately found this site, looking for that one, of course it was a little different back then too. http://web.archive.org/web/20020806202047/...rquestclub.com/
  5. They have some pages back to 96 archived http://www.archive.org/web/web.php Which can lead us old school Starquest owners to our first web major web presence (before Ryddler was the man.) http://web.archive.org/web/19990222103353/...olda/quest.html It's amazing how far you guys have come as far as adding to the knowledge base. I hope you enjoy the find and it's not a repost.
  6. Haha, you would hate our club, we are car enthusiasts who like to drive our cars, looks are second to functionality. The functionality of a 17x8 inch rim with the right offset win for me. I like them, who cares what car they originated on. To each there own is the true motto of our club though, so I respect your opinion.
  7. Mustang wheels are cheap and 17x8, they work :confused0024:
  8. His name is Charles but he goes by Gru on most of the BB's here in the STL area, he's a club member. He had the family with him so he went on the more scenic group which apparently did some decent driving as it was. Our catch up group was just downright stupid, that AMG and the 300zx sitting next to the Vett are ridiculous fast. The picture with a group of us standing around my car is me lifting the hood to see exactly whats draining out of it. I pushed way too hard for being a 30 year old car and it overheated a little. Everybody was safe-ish, so yes, we had a great time, we'll have lots more, hopefully you guys can come out. Kenny, did you catch that we did the whole Target to restaurant trip 15min faster than our group? Were going to need three groups next time, one for the scenic, one for the people who are normal fast, and one for those fast guys

  10. I'm not sure if this is the right place for this or not. FlyTSI was working on his Quest so he could not make it. Everyone had a good time. I was WAAAAAYYYYY out classed in my 280zx :rofl3: http://a901.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/25/l_99a208647c0a5d9cde706e7cb9dba264.jpg http://a440.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/71/l_6ec962e6f49746aad0faa268be3127a7.jpg http://a303.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/123/l_ddf7a110f745f97e983612873b1f95a6.jpg http://a621.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/49/l_b974c4f8b27ccd7c039a0b506182c23c.jpg http://a294.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/89/l_eb71209c6d04a74f3f32a3db904b3af5.jpg http://a474.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/57/l_993528647fccaf6a8da83ccd30c9be61.jpg http://a636.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/82/l_c5b567cbf9e310fb0ace3b7806c823b3.jpg http://a569.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/35/l_a1b8e4cc8bf0a09e07c16ea035aa2c68.jpg http://a121.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/78/l_2cc8bbed2ae9b6c42a0d050048c05000.jpg http://a748.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/11/l_9b8a5e2302d179dd7551a180c0038d2b.jpg
  11. Glad you took it right, I giggled the whole time writing it. I amuse myself, too much really lol.
  12. Cliff notes please? Ok, let me try perhaps, I don't think I forget much though. I'm rather like an elephant in that regard. I have a really good memory anyway, my happiness is not defined by any popular or common standard of normative behavior like marriage. Women? who needs one when I can have many to do the same I'm content to accept that perhaps true happiness does not exist, only band aids on the sucking chest wound of our own awareness of our mortality. Sure, I get depressed sometimes but then I drink some vodka I see no reason to deny people access to these band aids, like religion and family and new mulch around the bushes, but true seekers cannot accept others' teachings, I think Herman Hesse said. I'm not able to blindly follow in the footsteps of so many before me, until I've come to grips with the meaning and origins of the institution we call marriage. I'm not getting married to just anyone Doing it for the tax break isn't going to cut it. Doing because it's what everyone else does, isn't going to cut it. Doing it for love isn't going to cut it, especially when love is imagined in all its parts by the human mind. for any old reason Having a wife and eventually a child might give someone a deep sense of purpose and responsibility, but he is no more right for it than I am for refusing to take a wife, or make a child until I know I can be true to them both. Seriously, get married with all these hotties roaming around wanting me? Not until they stop wanting me thank you!! Putting 33" tires on my 4Runner might get me some attention and serve as a functional distraction from my insignificance for a short period of time. It might even get me a few compliments, but it doesn't actually make me any more significant. I am a person not a thing, my things are not who I am. There is beauty in marriage, to be sure, but it has to be real on every level for me, or it's as much a lie as God is to me. I am an atheist, why get married if there is no God? Of the current legal marriages on earth I'd be willing to bet an easy 50% or more are dishonored regularly by one or both of the members. Some are downright lies, and some others are very abusive. This system is flawed but again, I still strongly support it for its necessity in our current economic system of human needs meeting. People cheat all of the time, but two paychecks are better than one sometimes. I submit to you however that if everyone got married for ALL the right reasons, there would be way fewer married people than single. :confused0024: and fewer divorces, hard to argue that one, back to cliff notes Even when I do decide it's acceptable to commit to a single partner for life though, I might not be willing to define it as "marriage". I don't need no stinking contract to tell me I love someone No matter what I call it, it cannot be what defines me, nor can anything else really. again, I am a person not a thing, my things are not who I am. There clearly is no such thing as time. We are more like a river in our lives, moving from origin to mouth forever, alive and one thing from beginning to end, but different along the way, and then dumped back into the pool of organic matter. I'm never late for work because of my belief system, it kicks butt, you should try it. The only truly beautiful thing is the ebb and flow of the collective body of living beings on earth. Have you ever seen a sunset, now thats beautiful None of us is significant on any meaningful level outside our own family. I am a symbiotic relationship of cells thats all Together though, we are part of a meaningful, beautiful and very rare thing indeed, called humanity. , so are you, trust me, I went to school. Even regarding humanity's significance though, all of human life could be blinked out of existence this minute and the universe would go on and on with exactly the same knowledge it most likely has of human trivialities right now, none. I get depressed sometimes but then I drink some vodka The most astonishing achievements of the greatest humans who ever lived amount to literal nothingness within the cosmos. If a tree falls in the woods and nobody exists, who cares? What we surround ourselves with in life amounts to little more than our means of coping with all the tragically harsh realities we'll all have to cope with, that we will die, and that we will not have mattered much, in the grandest scheme of things. Think about the Greeks and Romans with their multiple Gods, hahaha, same thing different century really When our collective consciousness is elevated to the point that we are all humbled by our existence and not concerned with selfish matters before we are concerned with what matters to the whole of human existence, then we might actually have a chance to live in peace. I'm a liberal too, and I'm fine with that Doesn't stop us from having fun while we're at it though, haha Did I mention all the hotties that want me? I am like some symbiotic organism Vodka drinking stud!!! I just had to, I know you guys don't know me too well but I mean no harm and would feel bad if anyone got upset by this. It is just meant as humorous and that is all.
  13. Again man, thanks for letting me steal the pictures and using them. SO, I told you you were a bad influence. I'm going to sell my white sx and my Accord and get a Quest again. It may not happen for a little while but I have to I will keep the ZX though. A little nostalgia thing plus how awesome will my sig pic be with my Starquest and my 280zx on 18's sitting nose to nose
