  1. Inflation lol...I'll tell ya what..How about sellin that car?..I was peepin the Suspension/Wheels forum a few minutes ago..Your car is lookin good mang..Im diggin it..
  2. Wasnt me..To be honest I did think about it but it was to far gone for me at this time in my life..Much rather enjoy driving them opposed to fixin them like before..I owned 26 Comquest/Starions over the course of my life not including parts cars..Only 3 of them were truly mine(ones I cared about). This was one of them as it was a gift for my wife over 20yrs ago and we're still going strong..Just crazy seeing something from your past so long ago re appear..Hope whoever got it has the energy to bring it back...Hey Fuze..If I pick up another Starquest which is a good possibility,,got any 83 hoods for around $350?..
  3. Whats up old friend^^^? Im actually here all the time..Just silent..These cars are in my blood and although I havent owned one in years I still enjoy looking at them very much..About this car that Stesir is selling..Yes this car belonged to my tnen gi.rlfriend, now current wife..I havent seen it in the flesh in 20+yrs since we sold it to a guy that lived here locally.Story in short is we bought for my girlfriend somewhere around 1995.I was alresdy deep into these cars and she loved mine so much she wanted one.At the time of purchase I want to say it had somewhere around 35-40k on the clock..It was bone stock and exremely mint. From the start she was still envious of mine being much quicker so I upgrades her with a new Mitsu HI 14G,,boost controller, gutted the stock cats,CAI,and Montero clutch fan..Very minor mods by todays standards. It woke the car up nicely. She drove the car atound like that for about 4yrs.I was meticulous with tne maintanence as it was her daily.Car ran like a top throughout our ownership. The story about the color change is pretty funny.I was sitting in her driveway one ice cold winter night with the car running waiting for her to come out.I had the heat on so high that I fell asleep in the drivers seat with my foot on the brake.Unfortunetely I didnt have the ebrake on.I rolled back waking up to a thump..Me hitting her mothers brand new Pontiac GTP..Thats how that small dent got in the rear 1/4..My girlfriend looked at it and said thats awesome. She hated the Palermo color. She wound up painting it its current Green. She also went and spent 2K on those oh so famous ARE 5stars that were so popular back then. The car really did look great at that time. She drove the far around for a few more years and started to mature more now..She decided it was time to move on and we put it up for sale.We sold the car to a local guy in town for $8k..His name was John(the guy Stesir bought it from)..Once I sold the car,I was surprised I never seen it around town.I ran into John about 9yrs later and he said the car was sitting in the garage of one of his properties and inoperable as it started smoking real bad one day.I offered to go look at the car for him as he was not mechanically inclined.Especially with these cars. When I first saw it I couldnt believe the condition it was in.The car looked physically destroyed considering it looked just about new when he took ownership.I looked at the var for a few and had it running in 30min..Car was smoking bad due to a bad JV in the head.At that point I pretty much left disgusted as I couldnt believe what he did to the car. That was the last time I seen the car. When it came up for sale locally I showed my wife.We both couldnt beleive the ar resided only 6 blocks from us tne entire time since we sold it..On the local Craigs ad it looked worse than the time years before I looked at it for him.I guess it wound up in Stesir's hands and he started breading life into it again.Nice to see it is running again..I have a few pics of the car..My wife and I would wax these cars every week and take pics of our Starquests next to each other.I tried taking a cell phone pic of the pics I have and posting them..Although they are small tne site keeps saying they are too large..
  4. Stesir-..As stated above, this car was owned by my wife originally..I sold it to the guy you bought it from(John Barka)18yrs ago..I still have many pics of it when it was in new condition..On the underside you will find remnants of an old Streetglow kit(Green)Only mods were a 14G turbo, open air box, and you will find both cats are gutted..Mods were minimal as it was my wife's car..If your ever interested in seeing some old pics,,just ask.I look forward to following your progress..Good luck with it..
  5. I was the original 1st owner of this car..I sold the car to this owner exactly 18 ago..It was originally a Palermo car that we painted dark Green after my wife had a small sideswipe incident..Car had about 61K when we sold it 18yrs ago and it was mint...Right before I sold it I installed a new 14G, HKS exhaust, and opened the Airbox..Never knew the same owner had it all this time..It still resides 1 mile away from me..I'm sad to see it in its current state..Looks like someone was playing tic tac toe on the dash with a screwdriver..That car was beautiful when I sold it..Makes me sad..
  6. Wow..Whats going on Jay..Ofcourse we remember that..I remember how cold it was that day and how the rest of us dudes were scoping that hottie you were with lol..How about you..Still got that car?I remember it being very clean..Although I am Questless,Id love to hook up with some of the old guys at E-town in the spring..I havent posted on these boards in years..I assumed most of the older members were long gone. Its so cool to see all you guys poppin up after all these years.
  7. Wow..Its been a long time.Whats goin down kid?..Ive been out of the game for a long time..Still drop in and snoop around as Starquests are always gonna be inbedded in my blood..I miss them and all the good times from back in the day..I still have all the pics of me,you and "Yack"from the 1st official Jersey Starquest meet. These folks have sure came along way since then.I know Id have alot to learn if I got back in..You still have the White Quest? I heard awhile back you were rockin a C5..Damn..Whats it like kid ..Shoot me a PM when you get a chance..Its good to know your still out there..
  8. Tim--Dont know you ,but I can sure relate..I lost my mom in 05 due to lung cancer..It happened in a very similar way to what happened to your mom except she went as far as having the whole lower half of her left lung removed..She lived great for 2 years after that..She was healthy and happy to be alive..Unfortunetly she woke up sick one day and it was all down hill from there..It came back and killed her in 2 months..She was only 46..I was extremely close to her..She cried like a baby when I moved out and got married..The pain I felt for months after that was unbearable..It hurts bad for awhile, but time heels..It was great you got to get in one last hoorah with her before she went..Im sure it was one of the many things that went through her mind the moment she passed..Im very sorry for your loss and hope you and your family find happiness in the near future..To my mom,,I love you and miss you so much..Although the pain has eased,,there is not a day that goes by that you dont cross through my mind..
  9. Must reply in a 280zx Turbo thread..Your friends Z is capable of putting down much more power more easily than your Conquest..I love both, but the L28et is much more mod friendly..My latest build.. http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/1715/dsc02931.jpg http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/3248/dsc02927s.jpg http://img814.imageshack.us/img814/5171/dsc02910x.jpg
  10. NOT MINE--Spotted it on Craigs..Looks like a nice little project with most of the legwork done.. http://cnj.craigslist.org/cto/1590587148.html
  11. Was cruising my Corvette forum when I came across this...Anyone here??If it hasnt been seen before,,check it out... http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4s-for-sale-wanted/2425637-looking-to-trade-my-conquest-for-a-c4.html
  12. Beat 951s start at around 4k and can sell for as much as 15k...You should be able to buy a clean example with under 100k for about 7-8k.In this economy,,maybe a bit less....Make sure you buy a car with a known history and maintanance records..A 944/951 can put a hurtin on your wallet real quick..They are also not as friendly to the home mechanic like a Starquest...
  13. I was making a joke..Thus the sweating smiley..I was just being sarcastic...You are right..The PR racers love the G54...Here in NJ alone Ive seen dozens of Starlets and old Datsuns running this powerplant..Although they are shoving these motors in lightweight 'go carts",,they seem to have a nack for dialing in these motors..
  14. If your gonna go 951,Id stick to the 86 model year..Although the turbo S makes a few more ponies,,parts are quite a bit more expensive than the 2.5 8V..The S motors can also be a bit more complicated as they are prone to tensioner, sprocket, and bushing failures..Besides,,the 86 model year is the only 951 that sports a negative offset wheel...If your gonna have a 944,,you gotta have Fuchs(wheels in pic above)...They are the most desirable Porsche rims,,they are forged,,the lightest,,and look the best..I love all 944s regardless..They are beautiful cars...
