I didn't know I was addicted when I got it

Then I put some miles on it after I went trough it

http://www.ilostmymind.com/upload/20120318_15.03.33.jpgAfter that, I got inspired to improve on it.

And my brother has a 76 colt to help me not spend $ and time on the quest

15x8 xxr 002 wheels and some used tires.

I like it.

The Astron 2.0L

The ragged out interior. The boost gauge is there for a vacuum reference, to the right is the wideband. They are there because I had them around, and they provide useful information.

they came with a 2.6L N/A motor in the "fire arrow"

the 2.0L is a narrow block. so a quest 2.6 will not bolt right in, fortunately/unfortunately.

I was going to swap the 2.6 head/intake/exhaust onto it, but my head wound up being cracked and a valve is burned/cracked.

The 2.0L intake side of the head is different, along with smaller valves (still jet valved), and a lower duration cam.

I do have a second 2.0L intake that I plan to see if I can mate a quest tbi setup to.

exhaust manifold will bolt right on though.

Name that cooler!!!!!?!?!?!?

If you guessed conquest cooler, you are a dang genius!

Heres the sandwich:

So I rebuilt the carb against my better judgement. NOW, it seems to run more steady "efficient" afrs, but as we know, fuel makes power, so we will need to pump in more fuel to make this thing fun again. she used to be able to overcome the brakes and churn the tires over, now, shes sad. runs tip-top, but lacking the hp.

the oil cooler is in preperation for hotter oil. I plan to put in the oil heater that conquests run that sits on the exhaust manifold.

I cracked the oil filter housing installing the turbo feed line. I am letting the epoxy set now, as jb weld that wasn't set doesn't work. I thought I used jb kwik the first time, but it was regular, so 24+ hours to cure, when qwik is 4 hours. I got some stuff from permatex that says it holds 3900psi vs jb weld/qwik thst holds 2400ish psi.

stupid ofh.

so in short, my excuse for 0 miles, is, I broke it.

Drove it today.

I figured out my fuel pumps max pressure is 4psi. That is not enough for the 7-10psi wastegate.

So I ordered a dirt cheap pump that pushes up to 14psi. E8153. Yes, it is designed for diesel, but I've read of it used on gasoline applications. It only needs to last one summer, if that.

now, we wait.

epoxy holds though :D
