  1. Ok thanks, a member on here is sending me a knock box for a great price
  2. Its an 85. Is there any test for a bad knock box?
  3. For the last month I have been having trouble starting the Starion. At first I could wiggle the knock box connector and it would sometimes start, and then run perfectly. It would also still start while the engine was warm (for about an hour after shutting off). Now it doesn't start at all, and the cause is no spark. I replaced the pickup coil today but still no spark. I also checked some stuff I red about the knock box connector on the forums here: With Key On: - Red Wire gets +12V - Blue/White wire gets +12V With Key Off: - No resistance between white wire and left side of pick up coil - No resistance between black wire and right side of pick up coil - Other black wire goes to ground What else can I check? Any Suggestions?
  4. I briefly worked for a small EV conversion company. Owner is incredibly knowledgeable and they stock lots of motors, controllers, chargers, etc. PLUS, Canadian exchange rate is great for you guys right now so subtract 25% to get USD! Here's the website: http://www.canev.com/components.php
  5. Are the "extra wires" the ones in the picture you posted of the pump? (coming from the black box) If so, I believe that is just a capacitor for smoothing the current to the pump
  6. Welcome, and nice looking car! My 85 and I are in Victoria. Its nice to see another BC member!
  7. No, it doesn't talk. I think that was just the technica Conquests that did that. I talk to it sometimes though. No responses usually.
  8. I feel your shipping pain! You basically need to double the cost of anything you want to buy To answer a couple questions: The pinkish red connector with the single wire is for the O2 sensor (Don`t think you`ll be needing that) and the two hoses in the next picture are indeed for the AC and can be cutoff/plugged. The cylindrical guy with the bracket is a relay, but I'm not sure what it controls. And that is your MAP sensor with altitude solenoid. What are you planing to do with the G54B block and accessories??
  9. Hey Clueless, I think you might be my doppelganger, because I am 23. And yes, it does make music, but I assumed that they all do that? Next time I'm up in Edmonton we'll have to meet up!
  10. Thanks, So there is no distinction between a turbo rebuild kit for a water-cooled TC05 and an oil cooled TC05?
  11. Can anyone confirm whether my 85's turbo is a TD05-12A or a TC05-12A? Its a water-cooled turbo on a non-intercooled car. I can't make out whether the second letter is a C or a D on the compressor housing!
  12. Well I'm actually back in BC again now. I've been moving a lot recently doing work placements for school. I was in Calgary for the last 4 months and was in Leduc last winter. It is pretty depressing knowing there's almost no chance of seeing another Starquest on the road. Every time I see an old Celica or Daytona my heart jumps for a second haha.
  13. I thought I had the only Starion in Alberta! JDM Source is a good company to deal with. I bought a B16B from them a few years ago.
  14. Here's pics of his build https://www.facebook.com/StarionRacing?fref=photo&sk=photos. The thing had 300+ HP and weighs 2100 lbs
