My SS sold and I'm ready to buy a starquest again! Willing to spend up to 10k(maybe a little more) on a super clean car. Heavy mods or light it doesn't matter to me. Distance isn't a real issue, I'll pay for shipping for the right car. I've owned three of these in the past and I was a member of the original boards so please don't bs me. My SS is being delivered Thursday so I can move on the right car as soon as next weekend. This should be fun. Let's see what you've got!

I don't really want to sell my car, but 10k would get me the money I need to finish my big shop.

if you're interested and want more specs, let me know...

why dont you just look for a car and make an offer.alot of people might not offer to sell but if you made them an offer they might take it.just curious,i know when i bought mine if id only known a month earlier i could buy it, i wouldnt have bought a mustang. Edited by tim si

Why not repost somethying like "10K FOR A SUPER CLEAN STARQUEST SO WHATCHA GOT???" Then they should start streaming in...

Got some decent replies so far but I may try that. Burtons is sweet, and antitrust is amazing. I would by that in a heartbeat. Why did michael knight mean by its probably to late? I have some old starquest buddies that tell me I'm crazy but I've always said when I had the money I would do this. I just need a clean platform to start from and look out

Click this link and read. It is currently pending sale, not sold yet though. Also, he wants at least 6500 for it and figures it would be more profitable and easier to liquidate by parting it out. Send him a PM if your interested. My only advice is to make sure the car you buy is well sorted out and has a good reputation.

Here's a trick. When you see a car you like go to that users profile. Then click on that users started topics. You will be able to review all threads started by that user. It will give you a good idea of the known issues with the car and its history. Hope this helps! Good luck.

There's probably some other stuff I am forgetting. I grant you, it's not wild, it's not in your face, but it will start every last time you hit the key, and take you anywhere you want to go. It's a very smooth car, I have tried to make it as much like the original as possible but better. It's a Grand Touring car, with extremely smooth, quiet power, and only one interior rattle that I know of, and it's coming from the sunroof deflector hitting the glass on occasion. Point is, I tried for a very very nice car that was capable and fun, not an all out race car, or an extrovert.

This car is a rust free Southern car, hardly doesn't even see rain, and is impeccably clean in and out. I'm set at 6K firm for it, which includes everything, plus a few little extras I have for it.

Car's best time down the track was 13.8 at about 19PSI (without heavy stereo system), but will still pull low to mid 14's now, I'd say. Best dyno numbers were done at 18PSI, and I had 240RWHP with the exhaust dump open, and 335RWTQ with the dump closed.

This car is rust free. I got it back in 06 to use as a good foundation for my built drivetrain since my old 89 Conquest was rusting apart. All the goodies from that car went into this one, and I started building it. This car was my daily driver from late 07 until this past feb, when the body, suspension, and interior were completely redone, and the engine bay redone nicer. Since then, the car has been used only for show.

This is one of those deals where I'm not exactly looking to sell the car, but for the right price I would make the sacrifice in order to have the money to get my shop done. This car has a large amount of sentimental value to me, as when I went to go get this car I picked it up close to where my uncle lived, and was able to go see him- it was the last time I saw him before he died of cancer. Since he was one of the very few in my family who really got into the work I was doing on cars (even my dad could care less LOL), I dedicated the build in his memory.

I have loads of documentation, on this car. 90% of the receipts, hundreds of pics, etc...

Here's some links for more info..

my garage account at 26liter- lists all mods, and how much they cost, as well as a few pics (have to join to see it, but it's free...

http://www.26liter.us/forum/index.php?acti...4#modifications

Here's my picture gallery at 26liter, these you can see if you're a member or not...

http://www.26liter.us/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=423

The car does have a couple "issues"....

-Front wheel bearings need replacing, but I have brand new bearings for it

-The wheels are the same offset, so the rear wheels sit inside the wheelwell a bit and don't sit "flush"- needs 3/4-1" spacers

-2 small spots where I burned the paint a little when I was rubbing it out, and one small chip that happened after paint.

-When cruising on the interstate when you just have your foot kind of resting on the gas, the stock boost and tach gauge needles start to I guess dance, is the best way to say it. Boost gauge will start spiking up to like 10PSI even tho I'm not in the gas, and the tach will bounce up past redline, even tho the motor is cruising along at 3k. When it's doing it, if you get into the gas or let off, they boost and tach work properly. I'm not sure what the heck is causing it, but it doesn't affect the runability or anything so I just ignore it LOL

-A/C and Cruise control are long gone, and I don't have the parts to put them back

Every car, even the ones you don't want to sell are for sale for the right price. Since I have spent over $9500 on this car NOT INCLUDING MY LABOR (about 250-300 hours), my magic number was $12k, which is still cheaper than you could have one built. For 12k I would fix the paint spots, wheel bearings and get some spacers for the rear wheels, maybe even a few other things, but if you want it as is, I wouldn't let it go for a penny less than 10k.

Y'all may think I'm on glue to ask that price, and that's fine, but we all know you can't have a car built to this extreme for this price. Again, the car has sentimental meaning to me too, so I'm not desperate to sell it. If someone wants it for that price, I'll be able to have my shop done now, if not I'll keep my car and have the shop up within a year, but still have my car. Either way, I'll be happy.

PM me if you're interested.

I just wanted to thank everyone for their help and responses! You guys posted up some beautiful cars for me to consider! I've spoke with a number of members and now I remember why I loved being a part of this community so much. I'm still looking but I've got a number of great leads on some very nice cars. Hopefully soon I'll be posting some pics of my new starquest!
